The modding has begun

what are your driving impressions?

I felt gains but, I could not get on it due to a light coat of newly fallen snow on the roads. I will report back later on in the week. I need to get a drain plug for the midpipe bung hole. Besides that, sounds great. Had a few extra bolts afterwards but, hey who doesn't. Also, it would be nice to know on the Intake Manifold which vacume lines are suppose to left over and what you should do with them. I promise pictures to come.

Ok, so first review from the wife....

It feels pepy
It still how power going up the hill
when I let off the gas it kept going instead of dying down

will it always be this loud?

So, it looks like we have a few more WHP. Stand by for actual numbers in the near future.

She's definitely the one who will make or break all the mods done so far....Should quiet down considerably once you get that 18mm oil drain plug installed....Peppy is probably a good definition for all the N/A proteges, you surely can not use POWERFUL in any statement regarding the engine...It was a good intall though, learned a lot and didn't break anything important, just skin and a little ego, but that's it...

-Tips for the intake install....
-Mark everything as you pull it out with some masking tape so you can match up plugs and vacuum tubes...There are a s*** ton on that thing...
-The two back/under bolts are accesible from under the car..Not from on top of the engine, with one foot on the battery tray....
-Remember that there is no EGR tube in history that will line up properly, loosen the header and the manifold to align the tube, then tighten everything up....
-Figure out how the hell to take the EGR tube off the manifold, or buy an extra and saw the thing out....

Remember....It's easy to learn a lot when you don't know crap....Sucks about how much snow there is, can't really get on it at all right now...Once this snow melts, you've got to let me see that WRX in action...That's the definition of POWERFUL>>>

I got the plug last night and put it on. So the cabin noise should go down.

For the rear bolts on the air intake make sure you get under the car and remove the cross member to access them. You will save time and skin (trust me).

Also as ProtoType5 indicated label all hose and maybe go one step further by writing them down on paper as well.

Of course PB Blaster is your best friend.

Mid pipe...I removed the cross member and beat the center part with a 3lb mallet and the mid pipe fit perfect with no rubs.

Plug the extra vacume lines with screws

Here is a few of my goodies I put on a couple of months ago HUGE difference

why did you buy a new egr pipe?

The 626/ProtegeGarage intake manifold has a different EGR location than the origional IM, so if you want to have no CEL, then you need a new EGR pipe...

I ended up selling the Bosal due to the loudness. Besides that, I still have a lot of the gains and happy with the results. I will probably be getting a Racing Beat with a resonator. The Bosal with no resonator was just a little too loud for wife.
