whats the best way in your opinion to spend 500 dollars on my msp. i dont really want to get into boosting more unless i get an fmic because i have read that the car gets a little weird...
so that leaves me with 500 dollars i want to improve my car with

any ideas?

it starts to stall, and lag...things like that.

plus i dont know much about turbos to begin with so i dont wanna mess anything up.

hmm.....Cold air intake, maybe the JoeP hat-trick (sets you up nicely for upping boost in future), maybe hardpipes (edit - $400, maybe not)...not sure where the rest should go...let me look around. You could always go with boost gauge, a/f gauge, and a-pillar pod for future too....set yourself up for some mods when the money comes later down the road.

I'd say something power wise since it's got pretty much everything already. There's always room for more power. :)

Spend your money right and you could almost get a full exhaust (turbo back) and an intake system.

Gauges and what not are a good idea too if you plan on increasing boost.

But by far, a boost controller is the best bang for your buck however.

Whoever told you that should never ever touch a wrench or pretend to be a tuner ever again :).

get a boost and oil pressure gauge.
get corky bells' maximum boost and learn a little about turbos.
Get a CAI.
Enjoy.

oh yea
a/f gauge is pointless
NO ONE NEEDS AN A/F unless you have a Wideband O2 sensor to get ACCURATE readings. A regular O2 sensor shows you nothing.

What is your $500 list Joe??? That is something I and many others would really pay attention to.

$500?

Ship the car to me and let me keep it.

...well the only thing you need to do to your car performance wise is to get a boost controller (mbc)and turn up the boost. Thats it! There is nothing else that will give you that much power. Why even spend $500? All you need is like $150.

If'n you're going to bump the boost, get a gauge so you know how much you're upping the boost - that way you end up with a powerful engine not a paperweight.

First thing I'd do is take a decent performance driving school... that's the most important part of the car, and it's easily transferable car-to-car...

wideband o2 kit, boost gauge, intake, mbc

fmic might cause a little more lag due to pressure drop..but stalling? maybe if you leave a pipe disconnected... :wtf:
