If I were gonna part it out, you'd be first on the list. I'm actually gonna repair the car (again) and then sell it... Ask your friends, tell your neighbors, I need to get this thing sold.. I'm thinking $6500 obo. You all can see my parts list so, put the word out.

So if I wanted to buy the car, what would need to be replaced?

Well what happened the first time was stupidity, I didn't check the oil level and assumed that just changing the oil on the recommended schedule was enough... my fault. This time around, I have no idea what happened. The electrode that creates the spark sheared off the plug and got sucked into the engine, the extent of the damage isn't known yet, but we're expecting a total engine replacement. I'll be happy to sell that to someone if it occurs. I am going to sell the car one I get it fixed though, so if someone wants to buy it, let me know.

I am definately planning on staying in the Mazda family and am looking at 2nd gen Miata MX-5s as well as 3rd Gen RX-7s. Thanks for the support guys... I need it.

Sounds like your motor detonated to me. I am well to familiar with that scenerio. Usually from your motor running to lean.

Hope you get the RX-7. I just acquired a very clean 1st gen RX-7.(thumb) I took pics of it with my new camera phone. Just haven't figured out how to send it to my email or get it on my computer. (scratch)

Any camera phone experts care to help? I keep getting "Error C 1. Try again later." Don't have any idea what that means.
