2) hmm would the fact that oil is leaking around that nut have anything to do with it? I noticed also that it made an air gasping sound as well
Oh! Around the nut...I was thinking you meant those two red blood cell shaped passages. I am unsure about that, it's been over a year since I've looked at the manifold.
If you want to check each valve, rotate the cams and see if each seat moves up and down with the lobes.

ok here is the video maybe that will lead to something

you can see the gauge in the background but its not very clear, but it does not move at all, it does that on all 4 cylinders :(

ok I think i found the problem, what a dumbass, I lined those 2 slots up on the camshafts, E - E

that was pretty dumb :( off I go to change that s*** now that should be fun :(

sweet it was just the timing, now I got perfect compression :)

but now I found a oil leak around my block adapter and one of my coolant lines has a hole in it :( oh well thats minor stuff

the good news it started up first try and god DAMN thet thing is loud with a 3" open downpipe lol

the bad part there is nowhere to get my midpipe made today or tomorrow, hopefully on mon somewhere is open :)

That's funny, when I saw post #77 and saw all that stuff connected, I was thinking, "man, he'll be the luckiest man ever if that doesn't leak."

lmao, no not there, its the one for the oil cooler :) those ones are fine

I made the mistake of putting the oil block adapter on after I put the motor in, dumb dumb idea because its a pita to get at

thanks for your help Duane

be careful, when I installed my cams wrong (just did them again due to a another headgasket replacement) if they were lined up incorrectly, I bent 6 valves and havd to have the head cleaned out and the valves replaced.

It sucked needless to say, and I would hate to see your beautiful motor go poopoo.

Project looks amazing Jaime, keep it up!

Sorry I have been MIA for like 2 years, I graduated in December and am now in Law School here in Ohio.

I hope everything is going well!

And PS i took care of everything with my unhappy customers, so I am no longer a potential scammer.. :)

good stuff Bryan :)

yeah I looked at the cylinder heads and I dont see any scratches or anything but I am going to see if I can find one of those micro cams to get down there to get a better look to be sure

The oil is supposed to come out of the nut.

Car looks awesome, and looks to be a solid build. Can't wait to see some killer times from it.

Oh, and don't go doing stupid things like me....

Tuning without a w/b. 18psi+ on pump gas. Using an intercooler about 1/4 the size I needed. I could go on. lol
Live and learn.

ok so I take the valve cover off, the cams are turning and I notice something that I never seen before any maybe its normal I dunno

this big nut has oil squirting up around it ? is that normal?

its supposed to be sealing the oil galleries... so no it shouldn't be leaking or you'll be losing oil pressure

its squirting through the hole in the middle Edwin, I did not even notice the hole until after, isn't that normal?

well just got back from my voyage run :)

that fkn oil block adapter still leaks after 2 adjustments, dammit there goes 10 quarts of oil :( now I need to go get more and do it yet AGAIN dooh

anyway its running excellent, I did not womp on it very hard since its a brand new clutch but its sooooooooooooooooo tempting lol

believe it or not with all 4 awr mounts it shakes less than the car does with just the rear, thats a good thing I love it :)

the odo was at 64,470 KM before I took it out

tomorrow I will go get the 3" midpipe made and then its time for a long roadtrip lol

Your engine bay looks sick. Other than the coolant tank. I spray painted mine silver, and Im still able to see the coolant level but it dosent look as ugly, lol. Hope to see some really nice dyno #s once you get done the break in period.
