tekkies car build

beep beep beep dammit, get home get everything going, one major problem it looks like my starter is fkd the car is not turning over at all, so I took it out and it looks like its toast

I just ordered a new one hopefully it will show up tomorrow afternoon likes its supposed to :(

yeah no problem, I will pick you up a g string at the salvation army, then strip away... of course not while I am there :p

are you sure it's dead? did you try hooking up jumper cables to the starter (uninstalled) to see if it kicks on?

After I posted that I figured that might come out the wrong way. Oh well.
BTW, nice avatar, but sorry about the gear situation.

then the brushes are worn or oxidized... try sanding them a bit... test the continunity of the armature per the FSM as well as the other parts... make sure they're within spec... clean and lube the parts if necessary... put it back together and it *ought* to work if you did everything right

ok I am fkn lost, the starter does seem to work, I had the darn wire hooked up wrong :(

but when I turn over the car its still making like a grinding noise :( and I have 0 compression in either of the 4 cylinders? wtf

the belts are turning so I know the starter is moving, but what would cause the 0 compression? I could see it being low if the thing was fkd but none makes no sense to me

ok so I take the valve cover off, the cams are turning and I notice something that I never seen before any maybe its normal I dunno

this big nut has oil squirting up around it ? is that normal?

You have 0 compression while it's turning over?! I can only think of three scenarios why that can happen:
1) You don't have the compression tool installed correctly
2) You have major valve issues (like stuck open)
3) You forgot to install the pistons in each cylinder :)

yeah thats what I am thinking, something is really odd

1) I know its installed right its pretty simple :) I tried it on my other car just to make sure it was working and its working fine
2) hmm would the fact that oil is leaking around that nut have anything to do with it? I noticed also that it made an air gasping sound as well
3) lmao no they are there

I'm curious about the grinding noise, is it a constant grind, intermittent? Can you tell if it's coming from the low or high block?
