Talk me out of it...

I am considering trading my 2008.5 MS3 GT for a 2011 Mustang GT 5.0.

Test drove one over the weekend. It didn't have the premium package, so the MS3 interior would definitely get higher marks. However...

That 5.0 has such an intoxicating sound. My wife was sitting in the car during the test drive and called it a symphony.

The clutch and shifter both feel much better than the MS3, and have much shorter and precise throws. The powerband in the 5.0 is so wide that it is quite nice around town if you just need to give it a little gas to sneak in somewhere. Also, highway cruising is at about 2000rpm at 70mph, which is awesome -- it gets the same mileage as the MS3.

I don't really care that it's faster than the MS3 in a straight line as far as pure numbers go...how often do you actually get to floor these cars in 1st through 3rd anyway?

I'm going back this weekend to drive it on a drier day and throw it through some twisties. Someone talk me out of getting rid of my MS3...

I live in CT. It definitely won't be a snow car, that's for sure. Luckily I've got a commuter car, so I won't have to drive the Mustang in poor weather.

Then GO FOR IT!!! I know you asked for someone to talk you out of it, but I just cant do that lol. If I could buy one right now I would sooooo do it!!!

I mean just looking at the pure numbers of the car(not just straight line accel)... and those are STOCK. To me this car has soo much potential in the right hands.

If you still like it after hitting some good corners i would say go for it. You have a commuter car for bad weather, so this car is all about enjoyment. If you like it more than the MS3 its a no brainer, provided it is financially feasable. Sounds like a winner to me.

You won't hear me talking you out of it...

+1 for the same reason, plus i'm old school and not a big fan of turbos. if only didn't guzzle gas as much....i've also heard great things about the new v6 engine in the 2011 mustang.

get one. Since I have decided to sell my MS3, I haven't thought about it twice....

Any Car Enthusiast who decides to trade in there MS3 for a Mustang Does not deserve to own an MS3 anyways. I can give a Rat's &^% If it Made Pancakes and gave me a foot massage with a Blowj*b. I'd never trade in the MS3/MS6 for a Mustang period. Now if were talking about starting fresh, then I'd say go for it. I just don't treat my cars that way.

I mean the New Mustangs are bad ass and i like the new style and what they have to offer, I just can't Justify going from a MS3/MS6 to a Mustang. That's like going from a Nissan Maxima 3.5SE to a Hyundai Tiburon Genesis coupe. Or From Jessica Alba to Amanda bynes!!(lol2)

If you like the Stang, get it. If you like blending in with everyone else, you'll really like it.
I'm sure it's a good car, but I can't remember if I saw one today or not... or twelve today?? Meh...

SELL IT and you won't have to deal with all the quirks it's got, but if you go with Found On Road Dead....well maybe your better off keeping your MS3

The only problem that I see with mustangs are that they are just too common on the road. No doubt the new 5.0s are badass, but give it a few months and you'll start to see one at every stoplight.

the mustang is definitely not my taste. but the bottom line is that you should do what makes you most happy...

I wouldn't personally be worried what others are driving, so long as I'm happy with what I have.

Shifting is easily the #1 thing I hate about the MS3. Coming from an RX8 (one of the best shifters on the planet), it was a MAJOR letdown. (wedge) I think Mazda made too many compromises on the Speed3 to make it "accommodate" a wider audience, but some of the corners they cut hurt everyone.

I'm definitely leaning towards NA instead of turbo for my next car, unless it's a diesel. I'm ready to give up a few MPG to have fewer reliability worries and a more linear powerband.
