I am considering trading my 2008.5 MS3 GT for a 2011 Mustang GT 5.0.
Test drove one over the weekend. It didn't have the premium package, so the MS3 interior would definitely get higher marks. However...
That 5.0 has such an intoxicating sound. My wife was sitting in the car during the test drive and called it a symphony.
The clutch and shifter both feel much better than the MS3, and have much shorter and precise throws. The powerband in the 5.0 is so wide that it is quite nice around town if you just need to give it a little gas to sneak in somewhere. Also, highway cruising is at about 2000rpm at 70mph, which is awesome -- it gets the same mileage as the MS3.
I don't really care that it's faster than the MS3 in a straight line as far as pure numbers go...how often do you actually get to floor these cars in 1st through 3rd anyway?
I'm going back this weekend to drive it on a drier day and throw it through some twisties. Someone talk me out of getting rid of my MS3...
