Switched side of coil?

I am installing a shift light that requires connection to the switched side of the coil. In the sticked thread regarding pin-outs (thanks, Rotus), would this be any of 2BA, 2AW, 2AX, or 2AT? My shift light lets me choose 1 coil per plug.
Thanks,

Yes, those are the correct pins. However, these are not really the "switched side of the coil". There is an amplifier (igniter) inside the coil body where you can't get at it, so the signal you see on these pins is just a logic signal from the ECU. It will probably work, but there is nothing you can do but try it. Good luck!

Understood. A tach signal would also be acceptable for input, so the logic signal may work as you say. I will post results when I get to this. Thanks for the reply.

It will work!

Tonight I got the chance to temporarily rig up the shift light I want to install. I programmed it for 1 coil/cylinder and to come on at 2k rpms for test purposes. I pushed a straight pin through the white wire going through the PCM B connector at position 2BA for the temporary trigger signal connection. I was not sure if the 5V pulsed logic signal would trigger the light, but I was very pleased to see it come on at 2100 rpm (as indicated on the tach). I plan to tap into the white wire permanently using a trailer wiring splice unless someone can suggest something better. I will use a windshield mount to place the light far forward at the base of the windshield. I will document the installation when I am happy with it. I am glad to be over the hurdle of finding a usable trigger signal!
