anyone ever heard of putting an SVT focus head on our block? My buddy is a honda guy and it is his idea they like those mutt block and head options but it got me wondering if it would be possible. I bet it would flow like crazy.

also the bolt patterns on the head are different so how would you bolt any of your msp intake and turbo mani up to it ?

lol that sounds like a honduu guy! lol two different motors will not interchange i thought that was common sence.

hey hey hey now.... Honda owners have some pretty good ideas from time to time... (like the one i made to buy a MSP). and let's not knock 'em too hard; Honda's are and always will be the majority founder of our import tuning scene. in most cases, Honda tuners did it first!

Truthfully, it's pretty far from common sense. It's specific knowledge of interchangeability of parts that the OP didn't have, so he asked.

Ford and Mazda share a lot of parts, some stuff is swappable. This stuff isn't, but he didn't know, so he asked.

Did you know you can use the valve cover from an Escort GT on a Miata engine? Now you do. :D

...incidentally, there's no performance reason to use an Escort GT valve cover on a Miata, but it's a pretty cool looking retro-esque piece, so some people have done it.

as a honda and a mazdaspeed owner i see that alot of people on the forum are quick to insult and make fun i dont understand if they are so smart why they dont just inform that is what a forum is for also it is about cars that make power or cars that are for show if your car is clean does it matter what it is or that you are into cars

this happened because the two engines share the same displacement. Seeing as there is a svt focus his buddy thought maybe the speed and svt are interchangable.

and for the record:

mercury tracer
escort gt
mazda miata
mazda protege

all use the bp engine. the tracer, egt and protege have fwd variants, the miata has the rwd variant. KIA also uses the 1.8l.

Many parts are interchangable.

As for the FSDE the only "ford" cars that would interchange with your engine are a probe 4 cyl as it has an older variant of the fsde. Nothing on that engine is an upgrade to fsde owners of 3rd gen protege.

this thread may die now
