Ok guys, when i first got my car i really didnt have much money for pretty much, anything. So i got these "cheapo" $100 lowering springs, the brand is Dropzone. Now i wanna redo the whole suspension, an upgrade. The Dropzone springs aren't all too "good" i actually think they suck, it seems as if drop were "uneven". The front seemed a little bit higher than the back for some reason. Now i want something better and new. Many have suggested Tokico struts and Tien lowering springs. I've heard a lot of good things about them, but i just want to make sure of something. What im trying to do is get rid of the wheel gap from the tire to the fender. I think it looks a lot nicer that way. Any suggestions on what i should be getting as a new upgrade in my suspension????????????????????????????????????????????
Thanks a lot guys for all your help. I'm very greatful.

You cant go wrong with this combo , there are others but I c can ony comment on these because that is what I have on my sedan

go with the tein man, i just got them in and the ride is awesome. handling x5 now. cant go wrong with the teins. and the drop looks awesome too

I found a set of teins on ebay for cheap, do you guys think that its the real thing or cheapo?
By the way I'm new to the site, but so far its already helped out alot.

there have been rip off tiens on ebay in the past.

ive got megan springs and tokico illuminas. its about a 2 in drop all around. spring rates are 280 fr and 230 r. lot stiffer than most, but combined with the illuminas its an ok ride. as far as handling, its leaps and bounds over stock. if i had some decent tires (still running on stock dunflops) i could out handle my friends msp.

How's the ride quality w/ the Tokico/Tein combo??Is it as good as coilovers?I've heard springs/struts make for a bouncy ride.

if youre upgrading youre suspension, ride quality shouldnt be that important. it will suffer if you put stiffer lowering springs or coilovers on

So what would you guys suggest for GETTING RID OF THE WHEEL GAP? Tokico + Tien? Or something else? If so, what kind of Tokicos and what kind of Tiens?

Ya,I know that either way,the ride quality won't be as comfortable as stock but I just don't want it to be bouncy.Hmm..might just get some TEIN Basics...

Are you looking for appearance or for performance????? As far as performance with the P5, the best drop is 1.5"...That's what the AutoX guys say....With 1 1/2 inch drop you will still have a little gap about 1/2" in the back, but the front will be eliminated....Also, 1 1/2" will let you drive your car daily comfortably.... Also go with about 30% increase on springrate and you'll still ride smooth.....My favorite are the Espelirs...They are linear in the front to handle corners and progressive in the back for comfort/performance....They are also for sale right now from Auto RnD.....Only my opinion, but just like assholes everyone's got one....

Werd. I've got an asshole too :) I'm running Espelirs on both my Pro's. Here's a shot of my P5 ...

I have the Illuminas with the H&R springs. They give a 1.3 drop all around and are perfect. IMO. I have been in a P5 with the Espeliers and I can tell you that they also feel great. But I am still a little biased. But you can't go wrong with either choice. And for me the Teins don't feel all that great.

those are 17 inch rims, correct?
I'm thinking about getting the espelir springs

I had Dropzone (my ex bought them for me) and I recently upgraded to the Tein Stech and KYB GR2 struts. I love them. The ride is so much better.

i got the teins from ebay, and ive had em on for about 6 months now, and not one complaint. and thats with the stock struts. the ride is awesome, and the handling got somewhat better. its a little more touchy when ur turning now, and i love it

That shot is with my 18's, but here's some shots of 16's and 17's mounted up with the same springs ...

So when upgrading from Dropzone springs, to something better, do I also need to change my struts? b/c my mechanic says that the stock struts are longer than aftermarket, therefore, it's sqeezed at a point where it shouldn't be, thus, "squeezing" all the fliud out of my struts. Can I just go with Tein springs and that's it?? or what do you guys prefer/ suggest...? I don't wanna spend too much money on just an even drop. (I also really want to get rid of my wheel gap..)
