Hi....long time p5 owner. We have the 420th off the line and bought it new. The time has come for new suspension. I want adjustable coilovers but don't want to break the bank either. Looking around the $$700 range including used. I need to be honest. I don't know jack about the JDM scene. I know the euro stuff as I am an avid tuner in the Audi and VW scene. So....2002 P5......what would you recommend? I feel clueless about the companies I've scene as I don't recognize any of their names....

Here's a couple pics. One of the Audi which has extensive mods and one of the P5 which is now beginning it's stages to be murdered out.

well the most common option is the tokico blue.

most everyone who isnt running coilovers is using these.

spring wise its all up to you. theres a ton of options. it all depends on what you want in terms of ride quality, drop, and handling.

Who sells illuminas? Never heard of any of these manufacturers...Ksport, JIC, AWR, BC. I've been searching for threads with reviews of the products but I can't find anything that has solid comparisons. I'm not looking for super performance, I already have a car for that. I just want something with close to OEM build quality and can let me go low.

I'm seriously looking for suggestions as I've seen quite a few companies but have no data to back them up. Sorry for sounding like a tool. I'm in the research department right now trying to find something that fits all my needs, price wise and quality wise.

I have Coilovers for Sale..Cheaper than you can get them ANywhere.
Click the link in my sig.

the tokico illuminas might be what you want. tokico makes the stock struts anyway so OEM quality is there.

My stockers were KYB......Diggin the money pit plate on the blue car. Tokico does struts, AWR does all kinda stuff, Progress, GTSpec, Tein, Meagan, Espelir, Mazdaspeed to name just a few.

I'm looking for more specific info like spring rates and reliability along with warranty. I've seen all these companies but have no knowledge about their quality. Again, only considering adjustable coilovers.

Well..There are a lot of people who love the K-Sports..and some who swear they are no good..Yet no one who Actually has them thinks they are junk.
Not to mention .....you are asking about warranty yet willing to accept used Parts...where you wont get a Warranty?

The K-Sports come with a One year Warranty and will do everything it sounds like you are wanting them to do.
I know they are a hair over what you are looking o spend..but this is a Complete and New kit with a warranty.

Doesn't sound like you can go wrong here...And I know you won't find a better deal.
Period.

This is very true and the price is great however like you said it's a bit over my available price range. And with blown rears right now I can't afford to wait any longer. Got anything used? Some products transfer warranty. I bought some used H&R ultralows and I blew a cartridge out. They replaced them no questions. Some companies are more lenient with that. I also view the warranty as a quality thing. If I see lifetime I generally rule it's a better product because they are confident that they will last a very long time. I dunno, it's all speculation (shrug) and theory for that lol.

No one gives a lifetime warranty on any type of Shock/Strut.

Most aftermarket stuff doesn't give a warranty at all really..just a disclaimer..."for Off road use only"
Wow..that re-assuring.
But yeah....These are a great deal.
Check prices yourself..Its one Hell of a deal.

And no..Nothing used here man..Sorry.

I ended up picking up some Tein Basic's. Hopefully they will be here mid week and I can have them on by the weekend.
