Boredom inspired this.

What about supercharing the MSP?

So yeah, I thought I heard they make a supercharger for the p5, wonder if we could use it is a MSP appilcation. No lag, that cool sound, anyone?

really complicated when u got to FI setups workin as one...but turbo mag is doin that on their v6 mr2...sick setup if u ever get a chance check it out

if you wanna be the man then turbo & super charge....
super for low end
turbo for high end

and yes this has been done before....just not on a protege

its really tuff to get it to workl...cus u have to make sure the supercharger doesnt become a restriction.......

I would pick up turbo over SC anyday
that's why i have turbo

sc-it takes power to make power plus it take power to stop making power

with the turbo, you get about 20x more parts for it.

you can always crank up the boost if you feeling slow, plus turbo size can be hand pick for the application.

the only application i would pick a sc over turbo is Autocross car.

anyone remember the old saying "you dont have turbo lag, you dont have a turbo"

instant power is the name of the game for sc, but once you stepping in to higher power range, you'll end up getting alot of heat from compressed air

cliff note-sc for power off the line, turbo for everything else;)

Meguiars did this in a type-r :D Uber sick at 350 whp.

sick, yes but it's not that much power if you think stock c5 is about 200 hp and a ls/vtec b20 w/ t3t04 would out run that sucka with much less cash

forged internals, get them if you plan on superchargin a turbo car, otherwise........BOOM, you'll be picking up MSP parts a quater mile down the track....lol. Good luck if you plan on doing that, ot would be very interesting, and if you do it, oyu gotta post pics, and your design setup man.

need to build the proper internal with proper compression and proper A/F management for turbo.

it's very important to get the right tunning also. it makes a day and night differences.

is there any aftermarket internal for the protege?

eagle is the name of the game for turbo H :)

Supercharging isn't as great for low end as everyone makes it out to be. Its still takes a while to make boost and has a lesser efficency than turbocharged applications do.

maybe i am just dumb and dont know s*** about SC's, but i thought superchargers didnt spool up becuase they are belt driven, or something equally as gay? i dunno. i'm gonna go back to my dsm now and suck more exhaust gasses.
