I've reinstalled everything several times, but still clunks. Do I need to use an impact wrench or something? Everything is hand tight but still there is still just enough wiggle room to create clunking.....im totally lost here. HELP!

I just saw this thread.. I have one of those just sitting around. I had the same problem in my P5, but I bought the MP3 and never got around to the P5 again lol. PM me an offer if you want it.

I have this same sort of problem...the right rear makes a noise when I hit bumps. I haven't gotten a chance to look into it yet. The front makes vibration noises too...I'm thinking I may just have to tighten everything hopefully...

yea hopefully. I have everything as tight as it will go, but still get play

Yeah I haven't gotten a chance to look at it yet. Hopefully that's all it is...I just don't want to hear the rattles. Don't want to spend a million dollars replacing every suspension part either lol although I am looking at coilovers when I decide to get new struts which I'll need replaced eventually.

the o'ring is just something like the washer trick
you want that o'ring to sit between the strut mount and the bottom of the threads of the strut piston... you can also find rubber washers you can use to fit between the washers at the top before you put the nut on... hopefully that can cut down the noise

I've tried the rubber washer and as I tighten down the nut, the rubber washer basically disintegrates, leaving it useless.....

Just bought some struts (Tokico Illuminas) and I need to get strut mounts too. So I should buy Normal Protege front strut mounts? Are all the 3rd gen fronts the same? And then I should buy the p5 rear strut mounts? Or can/should I buy the complete p5 set for my MP3? Are the p5 fronts an upgrade also? Or is that just with the p5 rear mounts? Thx in advance for the help.

Sorry I kinda tuned out of this thread. I was telling you to make me an offer on the strut mount, I have a right rear just sitting in a box. It was never used.

I don't know about the strut mounts, but I know the MSP had different bump stops. I got those when I had the Illuminas with Tein H-Techs on my P5.

Ya, my springs (RS-R) are a bit lower than h-techs too, I believe. I think my bump stops should be fine tho. Just wondering if I should get the front strut mounts from the p5 in addition to the rears. Or if this is ill-advised.
