Hi all!
I'm new here so hopefully I am posting at the good place! I have a Mazda 3i 2004. Had this weird noise under the front of the car like if something is loose. Only when going slowly over an uneven road or lil bumps. Got it checked nothing loose under.... months goes by.. someone said maybe the shocks... got the "hand pushing" test done.. suspension/shocks are good.
Recently, I was told both Strut Mounts need to be change and thats what would be causing the noise. Now I'm ready to take care of that problem... That was a young mechanic from Sears.. it was his last day there.. great.. he tried changing my left axel for another noise with no success and had to put back my old part saying it was the problem... so I'm a bit concern about the other diagnostic. But he said to have the Strut mounts of the front changed or the "Quick Strut".
Calling back Sears they want another mechanic to recheck it but they gave me a price.. the 40$ to change the Strut Mount plus part (apparently you can only get it at the dealership no aftermarket). All of a sudden, they left me a message saying 902$ for Strut Mount, bearings and strut and labor.. I guess alignment is extra? It that a normal price?
I'm trying to look into a the "Quick Strut" for the Mazda 3 2004... it's suppose to be the whole assembly and very easy to change but the dealership said it doesnt come with the spring?! Anyone knows what I'm talking about?
So to make it clearer does a Quick Strut exist for my car and if so should it include everything to be changed? Cos I think 902$ to get that done is alot of money... especially considering the fact I just put in 1000$ having the gas pump change not too long ago...
Thanks for any advice or infos you can give me!
