Stripped tensioner bolt - powersteering belt

Dang now I'm second guessing :D my M8 x 1.25 die wouldn't thread on to a strut stud when I tried it about 2 years ago :p

I'm sure you're good either way.

You just thread your 1.25 die on to the strut studs, then buy M8 x1.25 nuts to fit.

(not much meat left to grab on to after all the cross-theading though. Lol)

I was curious so I did some investigating...
I got my tap and die set out.

I didn't have any cutting oil, lard or whale blubber to use, so I used my Sil-Glyde silicone grease instead. Lol

The nut (and corresponding eyelet I assume?) are probably M10 x 1.25 threads.

If you cut your eyelet down to M8 x 1.25, you should be fine with a M8 nut bolted on to it.

You got the thread pitch right.
You just shaved your M10 eyelet threads down to M8.

No cross threading.

The adjuster nut/ eyelet is M10 x 1.25 (Fine thread) , the long bolt is M8 x 1.25 (Course thread)

The strut top nuts are M10 x 1.0 so won't work unfortunately

I'm still confused...

My adjuster nut/ eyelet should be M10 x 1.25

The strut top nuts appear to be M10 x 1.25

Hope that helps!

I really confused right now.
(and drunk,.. and Cannibis is legal in Canada 🇨🇦 )

(I don't know what's going on. Lol)
