The headlight is the DRL on these cars.
In the U.S., it automatically runs when the car moves more than a few mph.
The only way to gain control is to do this: 2017~2025 - Disable CX-5 DRLs?
After that, if you use the parking light mode, you will get the signature light accents and not the headlight bulb:
