*STOLEN WHEELS* On The Lookout

I agree. I got stuff for trade on the forum, so no receipts.

This guy, if for sure he has them, hopefully will get mauled by a pit bull or something.

I certainly wouldn't want to have to carry receipts around of all my car parts just so I don't get arrested because some schmo decided I stole their s*** and I have to prove otherwise

I read the whole therad... did you ever have the car dusted for fingerprints at all?? I highly doubt they wore gloves doing it... get some fingerprints off the car and match them to any on those rims or the guys with the civic and you should be golden, also they should be able to match customer records at that tire place you spotted against the name of the guy and see if he had any tires done recently...
There were fingerprints in the wax.. cops never came.

It bothers me that no fingerprints were taken.
I was told in Tx one time by a cop that if the theft/crime involved more than $500 in damages, an ID&R unit would come out to take fingerprints and pics of everything. I dont' know about your state, though.

any potential for them to still be there? There are kits that are readily available to pull the prints yourself if need be... Otherwise good scotch tape and a very fine powder (like baby powder or the like) can get them to lift, and also vapors from superglue does genuinely work. It would pretty much seal the case if there are prints that match to anyone associated with that car or that kid.

someone's been watching Beverly Hills Cop (thumb)

or CSI

What's sad is I haven't watched either (I'm not sure if I've ever seen a single full Beverly Hills Cop). It's just stupid stuff I know and have actually tried LOL.

I'll get them back.. one way or another.
another thing you now need to worry about is that once the kid gets wind that the cops are on to him, he might try and ditch the wheels, like give them to a friend for a while till it all blows over, so again you might never get the rims back, thats why i said just steal the damned car and take them back., calling the cops might have been the worse thing you could have done, but we will see.

Him swapping wheels will just be more evidence against him.
Hopefully, he'll be arrested on the spot if he gives in to the detective

dont hold your breath chris. there isnt much more the cops can do besides question the kid and hope he tells them everything. the eye witness helps but he can have just as many ppl cover for him and say he was somewhere else at that same moment the wheels were stolen. did you insurance cover everything? i know it sux but s*** happens this is just proof this whole justice system is way flawed. all i have to say is you have tons of ppl backing you up and ready to teach this punk ass a lesson.....Karma is a b**** my friend

Insurance will cover the damage up front, wheels, tires, and rotors (after the $500 deductable)

I talked to the detective..
He's going to try to talk to the owner of the car..
If the guy cannot give a definitive answer from where he "purchased" the wheels, he said that's all the evidence I need for small claims court.
I carfaxed the car, he's only had the car since the end of January... and I've had the wheels since July of last year... so if he say that he had the wheels for a year or two.. it's BS.

Small claims court? They will also be charged criminally correct? I mean.. it is THEFT!, they were on your property and stole it right from where you live. (smash)

go slash all four tires and see what he puts on the wheels if your other tires were brand new i am sure he didnt just throw them away

Yes, he'll also be charged criminally.. that's the detective's job.

no pics?
His address from when he registered the car and present might have changed though.
