stipped lug nut - covered under warranty?

:
2008 MS3 Cosmic Blue
does anyone know if a stipped lugnut will be covered under warranty or is this a "wear & tear" type of issue..... ???

i'm debating on waiting to take the MS3 to the dealer on Mon. or just letting the local TireDiscounters/NTB deal with it....

any input is much appreciated....

how'd it happen? got your own air tools and decided to just spin that b**** home without giving it a few hand turns first?

are you sure it's the nut and not the bolt itself?

sorry, it was late when i posted.... i meant the actual lug bolt is stipped. The nut won't back off without alot of effort and is clearly cross-threaded.....

yeah, i figured it was not something that mazda would deal with...

A cross threaded lug is not a warrnty item as its not a mfg defect. Whoever removed/reinstalled your tires last ****** up plain n simple... Generally this happens when a shop uses air tools to reinstall the lugnuts...2 options for ya... 1 is to bite the bullet and pay to have the lugnut removed and a new lug pressed in or 2 go back to whoever did your last service that included removing tires and try to have them pay for the repair...Good luck....

thanks guys. I figured it was "negligence" issue (probably my fault for being in a hurry the last time I swapped snow tires).

Good news: the local Tire Discounters removed/replaced the lug for $42.....
