2012 Mazda5
Hey everyone. I just came across a great deal and was wanting your input. A buddy of mine has an sti and has the Bbs bronze subzeros. He only wanting 300 for em. It is a bad thing if I put them on my 2012 5? My 5 is black BTW.

First thing to check is to make sure that they're 5x114 and not the 5x100 wheels that came on the first year STI. If the lug pattern is the same, you're going to have a problem with the center bore. Subaru uses a 56.1mm center bore versus Mazda's 67.1mm. More than likely you'll have to have a wheel shop enlarge the center bore on a lathe. Once you get that taken care of you'll have to negotiate any rubbing issues. It's a 17x8 55mm offset wheel if it's the one I'm thinking of, which might give you problems rubbing on struts.

Nothing wrong with trying it out though, just be mindful of the issues.

Great info! Thank you! By any chance would you have any idea what something like that would cost?

I'm having it done to some wheels next week actually. The wheel shop in my area quoted me $50/wheel, some other shop said $40/wheel. When I was searching for it, people on other forums were saying it'd be in the $15 - $25 range per wheel, but I can't find anyone who will do it for that cheap.

Alternately, you can do it yourself with a dremel. You'll lose the ability to center the wheels via the hub and you may need to get the wheels rebalanced, but it's not a big deal. I'm going to spend the money because I don't want to screw it up and I don't want to spend several hours grinding away aluminum.

By sub zero do you mean sti bbs?

I'm putting a set on my protege and I just payed 800 for them. For light, strong and 300.... Sounds like a great deal even with the 200 to bore them out!

Just had the center bore on my bbs wheel's opened up paid $125 for two wheel's came out great tho.
