steering wheel position off center

My steering wheel is slightly off center when the car is driving straight forward. Anyone know if there is an easy way to correct it other than getting an alignment? Thanks.

yer there is, but ure alignment is still gonna be off.

straight the wheels, so that the steeringwheel sits off as it would when driving

disconnect the battery - leave for like 30 mins

un do air bag bolts

remove air bag

get rachet and large socket,

undo the steeringwheel nut

yank steeringwheel off, trying not to move the wheels whilst doing it,

then re-spline it a couple to line it up straight. eg. pull of turn then push back on.

do up nut, nice and tight, replace air bag etc etc etc

if ure lucky it will work first time, although in my experince its never perfect unless u get the aligment done :)

you COULD do all that....or you could just adjust the tie rods. You'll still want to get an alignment b/c it's hard to get that perfect, but just set the steering wheel straight and set the tie rods.

My steering wheel was off center also, I just took it back to the dealer and they corrected it free of charge.

hmm, maybe I'll try since it's still under warranty.

Did you get it like that as a new car? I'm not sure if that would be covered since it can be considered a ware and tare thing... Thanks.
