Start ups

DOES ANYONE HAVE good suggestion on how to get more power on start ups. More firing power. Ignition power. and also is it worth changing the plugs and wires. I keep hearing about those denso iridium plugs, anyone? Do they make nology wires for the mp5? I know alot of ?'s but I haven't been on for a while. By the way my peoples I ****** CRASHED. My fault and have to wait about a month and a half. Depressing. The day I ****** crashed i got my Greddy exhaust in the mail. Aint that a b****?

There's only one way to get more power at startup: more cold crank amps in your battery (CCA). If you want more spark at startup then better coil packs are probably your best bet, although I'd stay away from the iridium spark plugs as I don't think they'll make any real difference. Also, if you have a lot of aftermarket electronics, they might be sucking away the power at startup. That and I'm assuming your starter is operating properly.

My car has always seemed a little slow turning over compared to others I've had. I replaced the battery with one with higher CCA and no real change. It's tolerable but I went up to the mountain this weekend and it was 8-10 degrees out and when it was cold it turned over and over about 3-4x longer before it finally fired up. Is that typical in these cars? do we have weak starters?

ignition coils, got two from www.rockauto.com do a search on here there is a tune up thread for the MP5 that is very helpful.

No coilovers on the mazda yet. Have had D2 and Bilstein in the past and really liked them.

I am in the works of getting a "Friends don't let friends drive Hondas" vinyl. Just need to chose a font. Crazy horsepower with that, or at least they will all want to race me because of it. (drive2)

seems strange. I have over 130K with the factory starter (will go out now that I say that)

I would inspect the plugs and connections on the ignition coils. You don't have a CEL do you?

i have the nology wire kit on my P5. kind of a pain to install becasue you have to move the coils to the front right side of the engine. i did not really notice a difference........

they are expensive.....will go get pics!
