First, the ECU is located under the pass. side carpet where you would place your feet. Peel back the carpet and there is a panel with 4 10mm bolt's. remove the bolt's and turn the panel around and you will see the ECU and wiring harness.

If you have never done anything like this before I would suggest that you take it to a shop or find someone local to you that has installed one before to help you out with it as, you will need to splice/solder the AFC into the wiring harness.

It is not that hard to install but you don't want to mess anything up....Also, there should be a paper with installation instructions that came with your AFC....

I just installed mine yesterday. Everything you need is in the first post of the afc sticky in this section. Also the splitsecond web site has good info also. It is not to hard to do, just take your time and make good connections.

THANKS ALL. I have everything installed now. It took me a good hour and a half maybe 2. I am running the super stock map, but how do these maps work? Will I see any noticable gains in my mpg? Sorry for all the questions but I'm a noob when it comes to car electronics.

you might see some improvements in mileage, but only if you drove in boost alot before

i think the superstock map only takes over once you hit boost so before that its not really controlling anything

Ok, are there any basic mod/ near stock maps floating that will show improvement throughout all the ranges? Or will I need a custom tune and dyno for that. I am also a little confused as to what everything means on the fuel maps section of the r4 software. Qhat are the numbers in all the boxes mean?

if were talking about the same thing, i believe the superstock map only operates (open loop mind you) above 80% throttle, its not boost specifically... when you tell the car to go the ECU tells it to stop.
