SRT-4 ownage!

has anybody realized the reality of this thread yet? the fact that without an assload of mods nobody can take down a stock turd?

Spoolin is starting to sound allot better than the Hi-boost!! Decisions...decisions..... what to pick(hand) .

Great kill by the way! Please keep us informed on the tuning.

In fact ...let me buy you a drink! Here`s to your kill(cheers) !

Reality?

Define an "assload" heheheheh
Who luvs ya Jecky?
That's it I must now go compose the ballad of Jecky Ju.

:D

Something doesn't add up. If all the mods on his car are suppoesd to make it a "12 sec car", why was he maybe a 1/2 car lenght ahead at the 100mph mark. The SRT-4 traps between 13.9 and 14.6 pretty consistently stock. A real 12 second car should have had MANY car lenghts by the time you guys reached that speed. I know it isn't tuned yet but it would seem the car only picked up a few tenths. A few more psi and tuning probably isn't going to knock that much off the times.

What I really want to know is... did it get rid of the stumbles?

I hate to rain on anybody's parade but with the mods he has and at 5 psi there is no way that he could go 12's down the 1/4. Don't get me wrong, I wish it was true cause that would mean that I can pretty much run low 13's all day with my set up but I know that it is not so. Maybe the guy in the SRT underestimated what you had and though he could just mess with you and bit off a little more then he could chew. Or maybe he was just a bad driver. I am not questioning the kill in any way it's just the 5 psi that is not doing it for me. Nice run though!!!

^ hey moron......maybe you should read his avatar. His car is an easy high 12 second car with all the s*** he has done.

Not trying to be a dick......but think before you speak.

Perhaps, you'd be more comfortable @ protegeclub.com.

Orange dude PM me:D
I wanna know how the car is running any issues......remember you were a beta tester...........geez he puts the thing in and we never hear from him again:D
To busy smokin srt4's to call me:p

WOW wish my car ran 12's:D dunno where that number came from but i know its no where near that atm MY car has some issues and they will be worked out soon then we will see what the neon brings
some examples of some stuff that i found out todays issues
the bov was set all the way in the "soft" position so it was leaking even at idle
intercooler pipe was loose at the throttle body
and nothing to do with performance but had a realy small oil leak
at the time of this race was roughly about 4 hours after my car saw the road for the first time for a month

Yeah, sweet, way to show that turd who's boss.

There were 3 at the track the other night- I got a better ET and MPH than all of them and I don't have an assload of mods :).
Joe

and they probably couldn't drive...

My friend brought his Mazdaspeed to NOPI last Saturday. (I have it on video to laugh at his ass...lol)
He ran 15.95 and 17.31secs...
He started off good each time, but evertime he went to switch from 2nd-3rd, it took him like 2 secs...lol
His best race was against an RSX-Type S. He started off beautifully. 1/8 down the track, he was ahead by about 1 1/2 car lenght. When he went to switch to third, it looked like he completely stalled and the RSX just blew past him. His end time was 15.68

My point is, it's all on the skills of the driver. But, if you put equal drivers in both the SRT and MSP, the SRT4 WILL win.

Umm, I went 14.2@100- the fastest trapping SRT4 there was 97 and the quickest ET was a 14.6.. the 14.6 shows a poor driver, but I still out MPH'd the fastest one by 3 mph.. I never said it was a stock untuned Mazdaspeed.. Jeesh..

I agree 100%- stock for stock and similar mod for similar mod- the Neon will beat the MSP- it would take a really bad SRT4 driver to be beat by a stock MSP :).

I am talking about a very mildly modded MSP here vs. pissed off SRT 4 owners though :D .
Joe

i also think it is kind of......sad for lack of a better word that we are all gaga over a heavily modded msp being able to beat a stock srt-4. - just read kwitsi's post......so maybe its not heavily modded, but its more than better breathing

but nevertheless, I admire your tuning and think its awesome that you were able to beat one. I am also excited to watch you guys crank the power out of these msps. So dont take me the wrong way, keep on postin your kills, i enjoy em as much as the next guy :)

and BTW, can someone clarify this for me......Spoolins-and others' kit has a new turbo and a new IC and new piping. So why couldnt you just use a mp3/p5 turbo kit? Once you take off the turbo and piping and IC and all.....whats the difference between a MSP engine and a mp3 one?

thx

jeeze this post made if from the depths of way when! updates:

soon to be fixed hopefully

I don't call it heavily modded- I call it evening the score :). Look at the boost, IC and exhaust differences between the two. If I went above and beyond what a Neon has stock, then you can say that. Plus we only have a measly 2.0 liters compared to 2.4 :).. *IF* there were a "racing beat" suspension upgrade for a neon that made it identical to the MSP suspension, would you say the Neon is heavily modded suspension wise compared to the MSP :)? I would say they were equal :). Just leveling the playing field :D ..
Joe

BTW- I know you are not arguing and I am not trying to either, just putting a different perspective on it :).
