srt-4 bash video......

it is interesting to note that the yellow SRT-4 that blew the motor during the run still ran a 12.xx forgot the number but that's with coasting as far as he did. then dodge bought him a new setup for being a pioneer with SRT-4 power. that blow up was his 100+ run between dynos/track.

the whole debate still makes me laugh though :D
 
i can't say i've had direct confrontations with any srt owners, but i've had a few indirect ...

just sitting at a light, i've had an srt owner slowly drive in front me (through the intersection) and give me this "i own your ass" look ... best part of the situation was that the guy shooting me the look was this puny kid who looked like he barely had the strength to control the steering wheel ...

Since all the mustang owners are mullet wearing idiots, I guess you will see a mullet wearing idiot in a 04 m3 5dr in toledo, oh! Ive been on both sides of the fence and my mazda3 is a better all around car (esp with my 1st kid on the way), it handles like a dream and i love the feeling i get in it when im cornering hard, but the mustangs have their own adrenaline rush to them that you cant even compare to esp with the nice exhaust sound of the 4.6, anyway, if everyone got to drive all the cars that get bashed in this forum, we might find a little harmony and respect for what we have, vs what they have. Just my .02
 
the one neon i would actually like to own would be just like what my friend is finishing right now.

i do not like the 2nd gen neon style or the 1st gen style.

my friend is dropping in his srt motor into his 95 ACR. one of the best handling cars produced.
hes using a modified t3/t4 on it and is planning on having 450whp and all for a total of less than 5 grand for everything including the car.
the 1st gen neon is one of the best sleepers.
also.. a lot of people have no idea the potential of the neon.(1st gens)

tti racing had a neon running 32psi on stock internals here in michigan.
all he had was a headgasket. the car was insane. and he is still to date the only person to get 400+whp on a stock internal neon excluding the srt.

neons are cheap cars and are cheaply built and have the worst resale value out there. but thats what makes them great.

every group of car people you get around the owners will think their car is superior. but you have to have pride in what you put your money and time into so i can understand.

When I said that, I meant that people are very .. very .. dammit, I still can't think of the right word .. maybe defensive? .. of their cars. As in, if someone comes up and tries to verbally bash your car right to your face, you're not just gonna stand there and say, "Oh, yep, you're right, my car sucks." And not even care. Perhaps you'd be outwardly able to just brush it aside, but I think just about everyone in the car world, on the INSIDE, would be bristling from an incident like that. Because we love our cars. It's like if someone came up and told you your sister's a *****. Sort of. To make a bad analogy.

FWD DRAG RACING!

Want a drag car and dyno queen so you can cruise around and say "hey I drive a 500+ hp FWD car" Then SRT-4 is the car you want. I swear people literally nut themselves when they see some car run 12s, 11s or 10s. yeah its fast and spectacular but imagine that for daily driving and road racing. I like to think that we have steering wheels for a reason. Im personally not impressed. You can always take a Engine build it up with beautiful and strong internals, get a EMS, big turbo and boom now you can also run 12s.

I'll be a billion times more happy in a much slower Lotus Elise/Exiege...

AS my friend say nothing ruines a thread more then the Word "SRT-4" Its like its SRT-4s vs the world. Use to be the Integra Type R and Civic Si because they were the fasest/cheap cars you can get...now its SRT-4s. Its now cheap to go decently fast.

Why am I bitching and ranting about such a stupid topic?

Im tired of people frowning down on the MSP because its doesnt produce that much HP compared to a SRT-4. WE all know the 1st thing to come out of someone's mouth is "How much power do you have" or "how much boost you running." I tell them my stock specs and they say, "That thing is turboed?"

So what if im not heavily into drag racing? Im just looking at 220-230 whp and thats it. no one likes watching road racing. Look at America. Watch SpeedTV. NASCAR and NHRA on all the time....yet no coverage of JGTC, LEmanns or replays of F1. Try watching the BBC in Britian...Road racing on everyweek/day.

Im disapointed at people turning EVOs into drag cars too because its "AWD" great 60ft times...yeah and thats why they invented AWD. So that people can get great 60ft times in Drag racing.

In my eyes if you want drag racing it should be a RWD car with Torque (i.e. 7.0L pushrod V8). Real muscle cars. To my knowledge I would think FWD has more of an advantage going into turns/corners then in Drag racing.

When people say fast I guarantee 90% of people out there will say a car that runs low 13s, 12, 11 int he 1/4 mile is fast. When I think fast I think about cars that can go around a road course and we all know its not all about power when it comes to road racing....its called driving skills...taking turns. I think alot of MSPeeders realize and appreciate the feeling of a good handling car.

Its not just SRT-4s, there are plenty of cocky MSP owners too...in every car out there there is bound to be someone cocky. Its just that the cheapness means this car is affordable to any old joe. Its one thing to be cocky and drive a Ferrari...its another thing to be cocky and drive a SRT-4. SRT-4 can be bought by anyone.

i see what you mean now, yea cocky was the wrong word for that context, but ya, truthfully if someone were to say my car sucks i would just be like your right its a grocery getter, then when i pull bus lengths on them id be happy :D,
 
this maybe a shot in the dark but the first mustang (black) it kinda sorta sounded like it had supercharger but i could be worng :)
