How many praises has the CVT tranny from Nissan recieved compared to the Mazda transmission?

That doesn't change the fact that I personally can't stand driving a car with CVT. You obviously love Nissan, I'll personnally stick with the Mazda. Everybody is different, thats why there are choices.

This converstaion was about the V6 engine anyway. My point was that the new 3.5L is everybit as good as the Nissan, maybe even better.

I've just owned more Nissan vehicles and they didn't give me as many problems as my mx6. But this MP5 has been great since day 1. but yes, its all a matter of opinion here.

They are trying to get into the filed to compete with the Nissan Altima. 3.5 V6. But the thing the Nissan has is the new transmission with, from what I've heard, significant less power loss. Sounds like competition for the Nissan Altima....better have shitload of torque though....3.5SE and SE-R Altima's are ******* quick. Sorry if I ranted off topic a little. Oh and that 300hp....wont make a difference if that thing is heavy as hell. Same thing with the Civic Si, more power...yet heavier. Its going to be a matter of what manufacturer is willing to put out more performance. (peep)
We are in the age of accessories. people still can't beleve my base model 6 had steering wheel controls.

What worries me is this list of cars based on the CD3-2 platform:

* 2008 Mazda6
* 2008 Mazda Tribute
* 2008 Ford Escape
* 2008 Mercury Mariner
* 2012 Mercury sport wagon
* 2012 Lincoln MKX
* 2012 Ford Edge
* 2012 Ford Fusion
* 2012 Mercury Milan
* 2012 Lincoln MKZ

Not exactly the end of the world, but it's kinda worrying how they're going to field a sports sedan from a SUV/CUV platform. (dunno)

Yeah - I wish they would add AWD to the 3 instead of the 6. I see this platform as a money-saving move; otherwise Ford needs to (RTM)

Whats with the gauge on the pillar. I noticed it on the last pic. They should have done nothing to the 6. The car looks good now, better when they first came out! the power upgrade with its original looks would be great!

Ford also needed to bring the Focus ST to the states but that won't happen any time soon.
Same with mazda and the mazda 2. Both cars that would sell pretty nicely.

I hope to see a MS version in 2009. A year after the 2nd gen 6 is released is very reasonable. But waiting 3 years is just plain stupid, by then sales have slowed down and the car isn't new anymore (ie: the current MS6)

Maybe I am wrong, but the fully un-camo'ed version is at the NYC Auto show. None of the sites with photos and stories from the NYCAU have show the 6 or it seems and Mazda.

If the un-camoed version is at the NYC show, I'm sure MikeyB will be all over it ASAP. I'm REALLY anxious to see the new 6.

The next-generation Mazda6 hasn't been introduced yet (i.e. it's not at the NY autoshow).

I confirmed from an inside source at Mazda that the dealer release isn't until October (they get to see everything before the public). That would make it just in time for the LA auto show in December. The car is expected to be released sometime in early 2008. Doesn't mean that we won't hear anything before that, but Mazda is pretty secretive.
