Spotted - 2009 Mazda 6!

I'll believe it when I see it, but I doubt it...... the cars are heavy enough as is. they don't need the added weight of the AWD

If the V6 fusion can get available AWD, The new mazda6 with its more powerful power could easily handle the added weight of AWD.

I think they would be silly not too. I want an AWD mazda6 but I DON'T want a turbo.

I hope they bump the MS6 to about 320 horses or so to give it some room and give the top level 6 AWD.

eh.... I've driven the fusion, it's slow by my standards, so I have no idea why they would add the AWD option to that stupid car...... and is the fusion's V6 really making less than the rated "220" horses from the 3.0L v6 ford engine in the 6 sport? I would have figured that they would have the same or similar horsepower.

Plus Mazda still has their own control over the company... FORD doesn't ENTIRELY control what they say or do..... kind of like Microsoft for Bungie (in regrding Xbox) MS owns bungie but they don't really get the final developing say.

I'm not saying I wouldn't like to see it.... a Mazda6 with AWD and maybe a bumped up 3.5L v6 with more power would be sweet

But I'll believe it when I see it.

Its a little slab sided but you know what, I kinda like it. Doesn't looks as sporty as the current model though. Then again its just an artists rendering. Neat find one the less.

I guess I like it, I see the artist is speculating that it will have a similar headlights as the CX-7 and CX-9's. The bar in the grille probably looks like that of facelifted 2007 Mazda 3 GT. Why can't anyone confirm what platform the 2009 model will use? EUCD or CD3-2? MacPherson Struts or Double-wishbone? I would prefer the double-wishbone suspension, but it's not ideal for a FWD car with that large turning radius. EUCD is MacPherson Struts than again the CX-9 is on a modified CD3 with MacPherson struts.

word around mazda is the vehicle won't be produced in 2008. the new model will now be introduced in 2009. they didn't like aspects of the vehicle, so they sent it back to japan to be modified some more... still haven't seen pictures of it.

Though I would of loved to wait to get the beef-ed up 08 model, the 07 will do just fine. Though I wished they made a supercharger for the 07 models!! Maybe the aftermarket will prevail for Mazda next year.

If they didn't delay the 08's I would of waited. Because the 07 v6 is lacking quite of bit of power. That's why I busted balls when I bought the car. There was no way I was going to buy it for over 20k, at least for the VE. I would of bought a Subaru or maybe even a Nissan for 23-25k.

Anybody know where I can find 0-60 times for the 06-07 Mazda S compared to the competitions (Nissan and Honda)? It would be interesting to see how it performs.

No need to look it up, The 6 gets OWNED by its V6 competition. But at least you can take comfort in knowing its at least 6 times better looking than any of them and its got more character than all of them combined and is more sporting than the rest.

Shame about the underpowered motor though.

Not quite. The release date is scheduled for February, though they may call it an '09 we will still see it in the next 8-9 months or so.

I found out today that the dealer meetings are in February and the official launch is set for April, coming in at an 08.5 or 09. So we got 10 months and should see something by probably November, My guess is they will launch in the U.S. at the NY Auto Show.

that looks like a freakin accord or nissan sentra, but with better stock wheels...the first time i saw it i did a double take to check out the front emblem...its square and i couldve sworn it was a honda at first!

That is a nice looking Rendering.

Very nice looking rendering. Im just not a fan of the BIGGER and Heavier body every model cycle. After Im done with my MS6 I want something smaller and more agile.Maybe the next Rx(if they work out the Rotary issues). Or the next S2k variant.

I'm not happy they're getting rid of the hatch?

I actually like my g/f's 2005 mazda6 5-door.... the hatch gives you a LOT more room than a trunk.... seriously.... especially when you can lay down the back seats to stick things through.
