Splitting amp channels

I want more power in my system, but I don't really have the cash to pay for a good quality 4 channel amp. I have Pionner 3 way 6x8s in the front and more or less the same (6x9) in the back.

For my budget (200$ canadian or so), I could swing a budget 4 channel amp or a good 2 channel amp. Volume is not an issue as the stock HU withs it's whopping 5W RMS or so goes loud enough for my taste, and is enough to get my speakers going relatively distortion at decent levels.

Say I get a good a good 2 channel amp putting out 60W RMS x 2 and split both L and R channels to power up the front and rear speakers, in theory I should have 4 30W RMS channels right? I may no longer be able to play with the fade settings, but other than that I should be good to go right? I don't need a huge amount of power to feed my speakers, my main concern is clarity

IF they were all 4 the exact speakers I would say go for it but i have seen amps blow up form doing that since each pair of speakers has its own impedance characteristics as it plays.

If you want the most power per dollar get a cheap 4 channel, anything under $200 USD is complete Trash. If you don't believe me the only amps that cheap we sold were the pioneers and can you say NATIONAL RECALL!

A basic 2 channel will run about $130 USD but If you are trying to build a system this will be dead wait latter on.

Just save up some more first.
No sense in wasting money you can't get back on a product that in 3 months you won't want.

Wait till you have $400 CAD then get a nice amp you can keep and be happy with for the next few years.

What do you think of US acoustic amps?
Like theses

They seem like good value. I'm not really trying to build a system, to tell you the truth. I'd probably be just as happy with only an aftermarket HU powering my 4 speakers, but I don't want to draw the attention of thieves so it makes sense to me to keep the factory HU as a detering mesure.

I just want an amp that will give me a level of clarity and "smoothness" comparable to a good aftermarket HU, while not putting too big of a load on my alternator :D

Enjoy!

That is one of my all time favorite amps!
Plus in you situation it has speaker level inputs for direct connection to the factory radio.
