Spin-on ready for the next oil change

i have never had any requests or complaints until this date. that said, i certainly appreciate constructive criticism - just not the initial insinuation that i was perhaps sending out improper parts to customers. definetely not the case! (rei)

i'll make some product description changes to the entry and add a "delete filter option", maybe even an option for a K&N, etc.

Cool

i have parts kits here i can use, but thank you. changes have already been made. i'll consider taking a new picture and swapping it.

Have anybody had any problems after changing to spin on filter kit ? Is the same amount of oil flow to the engine?
I'm thinking to do the swap for my 2004 Mazda 3 in the next oil change.

i pretty much like to try alot of mods, but this just seems like a reason for mazda to b**** if something goes wrong with your motor.....

mazda actually uses the spin-on filter instead of the cartridge drop ins in other countries for the same engines, so its not going to cause a problem unless its installed wrong. installation is rather straightforward so that should not occur. the tributes with the MZR 2.3 run the spin on with an oil cooler and the 2.0 sized filter, and those engines have alot more mass to haul and heavier duty workload than what most 3s will see.

I think I'd ask my service advisor first. I wonder if I could get it in writing... like that'll ever happen!

i did the spin on conversion on my 6 over 2 years ago. havent had any problems at all. its actually the only engine mod i have. lol

I already ordered mine also... I just have to use up my 3 cartridge filters I have in stock, then it will be spin on baby!!! (2thumbs)

I've ordered my conversion kit too, and i want to use the Prosport sandwich plate adapter for oil temp/press.

Which one do i order? is it the one that fits "most mazdas" or is it more complicated than it needs to be?

Where are you ordering it from? On the PG website there is an option for the Mazdaspeed application.

the one listed on Prosport's website for 'most mazdas' is not correct. we tried that one and the thread pitch is off. i have to contact Prosport and see what they are selling that works.

Tenacious, whats your order number

It's in my work email, i'll check in the morning... thx.

Anyone have reference numbers/part numbers for different size filters we can use with this spin on conversion mod...?

I'd like to use a filter about twice the size of stock spin on.
