Speed6 bucking

On my end, they had to overnight a coil, because apparently one was causing a cylinder to misfire. They also took care of all the recalls. So, I should be getting my car back this afternoon sometime, hopefully in top running order.

Sounds good. I have heard of another having the coil pack go and needing to replace. Sounds like you will be up and running soon. As for me, the rep going to the dealership cancelled this morning and will not look at my car until tomorrow. Again, I'll keep updating.

I found this works pretty nicely...but only if the CEL is not on. It worked on my girl's '06 WRX too when she had really bad bucking/hesitation/loss of power problems...

Completely disconnect the battery for 30 mins.
Reconnect the battery, start the car and let it idle for 10 mins.
Turn it off, then restart it and hit the road.

Mojojo. I hear you, but all that does is re-set all the factory settings in the computer. I have tried that myself and dealer has tried twice with no results. I have heard of that working for a few people, but my problem seems to be deeper than that. Appreciate the insight!

Just got back from driving my car, she's back in full force. Got the reprogram done, also had a spark plug and a coil replaced because they were causing the misfire. I guess problem solved (2thumbs)

Excellent! Good to hear. Now that the car is up and running, you'll be very pleased! I am still waiting to hear fromt he dealer for today. Let us know if anything changes or the problem comes back!

Just heard from the dealer. At this point they have narrowed down to coil pack as well, and will replace all spark plugs. I have to wait a week for parts, but should be back in action by next week this time. Fingers crossed this is it!!!!!

No, I refuse to go there. I go to Concord. The parts could be here sooner, but they are giving me worst case o get it back.

I hate that place, ive been ripped off too many times and that stupid lady that works in the parts/service department has no clue what she is doing.

Thats too bad. I never had a problem with her, just the sales crew. Grappone has been more than accomodating through this whole ordeal.

Do yourself a favor. Pull all the spark plugs (yes, remove the TMIC). Check for cracks in the ceramic. I had the same symptoms for the first 5K miles and after 3 dealer visits, they could not find the problem because they weren't authorized to pull the TMIC to check all the plugs. it would stutter / buck at low RPMs and until the engine was hot as it gets, then it would go away. It was the plugs. At higher RMPS and higher temps, the flash point of the fuel drops and the spark doesn't have to be as strong.

I had 2 cracked spark plugs. I found the problem myself, replaced the spark plugs and it was fixed. They told me that they were either defective or they were dropped on the floor before instal at the factory.

Check the plugs. I have a thread here with pictures.

Speedy3, good call. I just spoke to the dealer today and the car is now fine. Turns out that the wiring to the plugs was loose, and causing the issue. hey removed all the wiring and connections and then reassembled, and the bucking was gone. They thought at first it was cracked plugs, and they put all new ones in. I am going today to go pick it up!

Wow, over a year since I have replied to this post. No go on all the work that had been done. I have posted in a few other threads, but they found that there was no oil pressure in the engine, and the engine needed to be replaced. So after a full year of going back and forth, I now have a brand new engine, turbo, clutch, MAF, O2, Solenoid, EGR, Fuel Pump, Swirl Valve, coilpacks and plugs. No more issues.....yet

I'm having the same issues now... around 2300 rpm in 4th, 5th, and 6th... I'm going to be replacing spark plugs, cleaning MAF sensor, and intake filter, as well as getting a flash from CP-E tomorrow. Hopefully they fix the issue.

Are you at WOT @2300 RPM?? Others have had the issue due to too much boost at too low RPM. Just a thought. There is also a TSB for the fuel pump, that could also be the issue. Do you have any mods? I seem to be one of the only ones with no mods ever done to experience so many issues. Let us know how it all works out.
