Speed6 bucking

So I have dropped it off with the dealer, and they are looking into it. They had me take the Mazdaspeed Technician for a drive to show him what it's doing. No Turbo boost in any gear, and the buck was there when highway coasting and attempting to pass. He seemed very surprised as to how the car was reacting and was not sure what the issue could be based on what they have already done. Again, I will keep you all posted as to the results.

I definitely have boost in each gear. Unless your issue is just progressed further then mine, then it's a different issue. I went for a long highway drive the weekend, and lets just say I passed a "few" cars....man this car is awesome on the highway.

I hear ya Newf. Mine has had a few nice "passes" and some nice lined-up showdowns. I do love the car, but I am not getting the performance that I paid for. I just put a call in to the dealer to see if there was an update on the issue, but nothing yet.

Ok, we have the results. I went back to the dealer today to drive the car with the computer hooked up to it to see the results. The tech drove it first to show how the car should respond, and then had me drive so he could look at when I was behind the wheel. The results were fine, and they found that they needed to reset all computers and memory in the car (they disconnected battery for 15 minutes to reset), they installed the re-flash again, and decided to take it a step further by tinkering with the tuning. The car is now faster than previous, and all issues have been resolved. I gave it a good test run on the highway home. There was a nice little BMW that wanted to give it a go, and the little Z3 was left behind. So after all I have been through, it seems that the original re-flash with the un-reset computer was conflicting. I hope this helps anyone with the same problems. It has also been really hot here lately, and the turbo didn't like that too much, which is why they tinkered with the tuning.

Thanks for the update! I'm glad it all worked out!

i took mine is last week for this as well. Seems there were 2 updates for my car since they last checked.

NO issues.....yet. Car feels good.

Yes, there were more updates. I took the car back as the issue was coming back soon after I recieved it back. It turns out I need a new "swirl valve", and there was a recall on it that came out shorty\ly after I got the car back. Parts are being ordered and will be in soon. Hopefully this is the last time it goes in for the issue!

3 time for the same problem and by the lemon law you get ure money back or a new car. Screw that i would give it back to them.

Ok, I got the car back today with the new valve. As for now it seems much better. I felt one hesitation when accelerating on the highway, but the response of the car is much better. I will keep posting if the problem persists. If it does have to go back, I will pursue lemon law.

Sorry to dredge up this thread with a search, but I have this exact same problem, except I DO have a CEL. Going to the dealer on Monday to get it checked out...Any ideas?

did you have the recalls done? could be the purge valve solenoid also.

Wouldn't know, I'm the second owner. I doubt the first owner did, though. He traded it in for a Mustang...

If you know what dealership he had it serviced at you can have them look up the repairs via the VIN number.

I have not had a CEL on the car for any of the issues. The dealer called me yesterday as I took it in for the 5th time. The Speed tech drove with me, and the car was fine. I told them it doesn't always happen, and the car before I brought it back was perfect for 3 straight days, and then it happened again. When they called, they stated nothing was unusual the first day they had it, but took it out in the morning, and they felt the problem immediately. So, as for now, more tests are being done, but they are stumped. They had one other owner bring it in for similiar issue, but the swirl valve solved the problem. I'll keep you all updated. Kevin, let us know what the dealer says.

Will do, wish me luck limping around town the weekend. It's pretty consistent now, in every gear except 1st.

Just spoke with the dealer, and they are now working with Mazda to try and resolve. My car has had issues every day they have had it now, and nothing is working to fix it. They have been in contact with headqurters, and Mazda is requiring additional tests. All the ones they have performed have not worked. The car will be there for the weekend while they submit all the results to Mazda. I will post when I hear on Monday.

Well, I had to limp into the dealership today on my way home (luckily it's on my street...), it got a lot worse. Any thing more than 25% throttle was met with stuttering and bucking. It's funny, because as soon as I pulled in to the service department, I had like 3 people circling around my car checking it out lol. Tech said most of them had never seen a MS6 before.

Turns out I have open recalls on my car that the last owner didn't take care of (headshake so I'm getting a reprogram and an inspection done. Hopefully I'll be able to tell you guys it's all fixed on Monday. I just want my car feeling good, funny that the car got sick when I got sick.

Alright, so I spoke with the dealer yesterday, and still no luck. They are now sending a rep from Mazda down to evaluate the situation. Whatever it is, it doesn't look go. So as for now, it seems like this is an isolated issue, as all others with the bucking issue have been cleared with the swirl valve. I am supposed to hear from the dealer today. Again, I will post when I hear!
