I know the speed3 has a speed limiter set for 155... is there a way to remove that? I think a new ecu would solve that, but is there a way to do it without buying a new computer??

Good lord why?? But anyhow, might check the cobb forum to see if the access port removes the limit. Not sure if it does or not.

hahaha i know i know its a tad above the speed limits, but id like to hit it if i ever get the chance ;-) so thanks

Yep, wind her up on a LONG flat downhill cause it will take a while. It is set for 154.5 but you can get past it using the method I mentioned But you sure as hell better have the experience, because things happen very fast and a mistake, even driving in a straight line on a smooth road is terminal.

yeah, wtf...155 is insanely fast.

i've gone 120-125 on three different vehicles and that is pretty ******* fast. the need to go 30 more and then some is beyond me

Man, you got that right! All it would take would be a critter or a rough spot in the road.

I've read the AP will remove the limiter, but as they said, why? I've been that fast in a car, but it was pretty wild. I was way younger and a lot dumber.

My dad had a '63 Bonneville that would run in the 160 range, and I've ridden with state troopers whose patrol car would do a certified 150.

LOL... the idea that you would deliberately mod to get above 155. Crazy. Now if in your journeys with your car the modding does that for you, dumb luck I guess. :-0 I hit 140 on I-75 in Kentucky on a long down hill cruising with a MS6 that I rolled up on. The car is really light for that speed and felt that way! Sure did leave that 08 si standing there though.

ive only done 135 to date on i90...which was a dumb idea considering the number of cops that chill there... but yea id still like the ability to go over 155 whenever possible ;-)

yeup you'd pretty much be walking, riding bike, riding the commuter rail for some time ... MA troopers are swarming these days.

i topped it out on the 407 up here in canada, everything goes by really fast at 255 lol.. we got my moms old benze up to 280 once that was pretty wild :)

I think the gears limit it to around the 185mph range.

But hey, if you got the power, the will, and the desire.... why not. eh?

I'd just want a roll cage before going that fast.

cobb AP dosnt remove it they just bumped it up to 300mph. granted you will run out of rpm well before that.

hahahaha yea i dont think anything i do to my car will make it go THAT fast....nothing i can afford anyways....

One of my goals has been, to have the ability to accelerate with power in the longer gears, there really is no place to run that speed for more than a couple of seconds up my way. I do not need to again achieve those speeds. But knowing I can, in what is essentially a station wagon just cracks me up when I am driving around town at the posted speed limit

155 MPH is all she'll do due to the stupid limiter... Its fast, but its way smooth...Cadillac style. I am also looking to remove the limiter.
If a critter gets in your way, don't bother to swerve out of the way...just plow straight into it...you'll have damage though...

I read a while back that Mazda put the limiter do to the tires. The start to shred after 155...though I don't know how long it would take.

Try 150 mph on a bike...then we'll talk. (2thumbs) (lol2)

Ok, lets talk. haha. The Mazda is pretty stable but blow a tire on any car at that speed and you are in to the weeds and inanimate objects. speed kills man!

You could be stopped at a traffic light or just cruising below speed limit and have a cement truck plow into you...

True, higher speeds require much more attention...and your car needs to be in perfect shape...but it doesn't automatically mean your going to die. Look at how many racers drive at +150 MPH...how many of them die?
Hell, look at those crazy ass rally drivers racing up and down mountains with no guard rails... (lol2)

Its true, speed kills, but only if you're clueless...
