Mazdaspeed 3
Ok, my dealer told me there were only 5k produced for North America this year. that seems like a low number. Is this because its the MS3's 1st year and mazda is putting its "feelers" out or will we see the same #s in the following years? Basically, is this going to be a hard to find car in the future or will it be commonplace like others.

Yeah, there was a limited amount of MS3's produced for US, which was 3,000 I believe. They did this in the same way with the MS6: See if the MS3 would be off the lots fast and if so, then they would produce more.

But the 2008 MS3 is definately approved for US(burnout)

To the right buyer is the main thing. Trust me when I say the average automobile consumer doesn't have a clue what the Mazdaspeed line is.

Wrong, the thread poster is right. 5k were shipped to the US.

5000 is right and you can contact mazda to get your production number. Just have your vin ready.

Just got off of the phone with Mazda Customer Service line 1-800-222-5500 and they say they dont have and it doesnt look like they will be getting production #'s on the Speed 3, Last 4 of vin is like the ID CODE given to distinguish it, but I dont believe it is a production number

Holy double post batman.

The last 4 #s are the order it rolled off the production line. This is how it was explained to me from the trustworthy Mazda technician at my speed dealer.

It might not be a "production number" per se but it is the number that identifies the order in which they were produced.

I'm not sure the person on the 1-800 number would be the right person to ask.

I will look into this further.

Do have an MS3 or a regular 3?
