Spark plug change coil pack release tips?

:
2023 CX5 turbo
Getting ready to change plugs in my 23 cx5 turbo...Any secrets on disconnecting the connector for the coil packs? I know usually these connectors release just pushing down on the clip but the other day when looked they did not really feel like they wanted to release without a lot of effort. I did not do more than look at them tho as was not ready to at that time and was just wiping the dust from the engine compartment. Thanks!

Nothing special. push the plug and pull it out.
Plugs do have some "grip" from what I recall but will eventually pull out.

I usually hold the coil with my right hand and help the push with same hand/fingers as much as I can. At the same time Pull carefully with left hand.
Little bit of wiggle left right helps sometimes.

p.s
Dont drop or overtighten the plugs. They are fragile.
Spark plugs Tightening torque
15—20 N·m {1.6—2.0 kgf·m, 12—14 ft·lbf}

Make sure you have a spark plug socket, don't try to use regular socket. Start tightening with bare hands until you cannot turn it by hand anymore, then use the ratchet. I've seen people here talking about torque values for the spark plugs. I used "gut and tight" torque. 😆 So far no issue.

X2 on get at spark plug socket. I broke a plug swapping out plugs on the side of the road. I made a WOT pull and wanted to read a plug to confirm the tune. I bought a plug socket the next day.

Gut tight works for me too, just barely pull on the wrench. I use an old school Speed Wrench to run the plugs down. NO power tools on these soft aluminum threads. I pull on the Speed Wrench handle to snug the plugs.

We change 16 plugs often on our other platform racing engine, Hemi. Speed Wrench is fast and safe.

i do have a spark plug sockets I have changed upwards of 500 sets of plugs and never had one blow out or strip out or break....I generally go by feel as well especially on initial install when the washer is uncrushed. usually 2/3rds after the washer is seated gets it done, altho I have a pretty nice armstrong in/lb torq wrench that is of jewel quality :) that is incredibly accurate from 50 in/lbs to 240 in/bs
