ok this is my final noob question.. I would like to learn AS MUCH about MSP's before I go check them out tomorrow with my dad...

ok, I know the WRX engine up, down, and inside out... however.. I just now started looking at MSP's today... soo.... explain..

how many cats?
where are the cats?
anyone got engine pix?
anyone got a pic from under the car?(so I can see the down pipe and cat back)

pretty muchly just tell me everything about the engine...

hmm.. yeah.. I pretty muchly already know about garret turbos.. I was more interested in the engine design.. like I said.. how many and where are the cats,, etc...

There are two cats. The placement i dont know but why is that the most important?
They (except for federal guidelines) can be removed and put a high flow in place right around the crossmember.
The engine design is OK. It could have used stronger rods but it is good for a 9-10 psi all day long no problem. They have nice ignition and fuel maps but additional managment will be needed for higher bost levels to maintain the stock internals.
The car is great and with the addition of the LSD ( limited slip differential) it makes it a car with a great platform to build on for a daily driver.
Hope that helps but im curious why your so concerned about the cats.
Now i know the WRX has one precat before the turbo, if this is the reason your asking dont worry its not the case in this vehicle.
They are both AFTER the turbo:D
