I am driving today and stop at a red light, on my right a civic with a big ol fart can on it making all kinds of rackett pulls up and he starts reving his engine. "I am like here we go again" Then a 99 or 98 Toyota celica with a definte good exaust system on it pulls up on my left and he starts reving his engine. Now I am pissed so I go what the hell, lets do this.

Well the celica was so anxious he was inching up everytime he reved and he got to where his rear was at me and the civics front. So the light turns green and we take off the civic didnt get anything at all as I passed him on the shift from 2nd to 3rd and the celica wouldnt have got anything either if he hadnt started a car length ahead. But anyway I get at about 3500-4000 rpm in 3rd and smoked the celica BAD!!!

I was thinking to myself why would you pull up next to anyone and rev the hell out of your car only to get smoked before I get to 4th gear!!! When I had my mp3 I used to do that to people because I knew I was going to lose. I guess that is what they did. I think they both saw the exaust that the msp has and figured that was it. Like there shitboxes they have, BOY WERE THEY WRONG.

what kinda celica was it a new style or old. cause if it was a gts I thought they were faster than us?

WELL, it is funny that you asked because I wasnt sure either but I just went to edmunds.com to find that out and it was a GTS because it was a convertable and they made all the convertables GTS's. It was a 98 or 99 style though.

98-99 Celica GTS is slow. 0-60 is around 9 seconds.

yeah if it was the old body style you would have ate his a$$ up. and seeing as they dont yet have converts in the new style I can only assume that you raced a moron in an old celica.
