So yea my debadging took a turn for the worse, but i'll make due

So I was taking the 2.3 badges and the 3 badge off my car yesterday. After looking at tons of threads and doing what i thought was the best was. The 3 came off perfect, the 2.3 on the passenger side came off perfect, but when i took the 2.3 off of the drivers side i found out that the door had been damages at some point and repainted...the body shop do did the work glued the badge on under the 2 sided tape.(mad) I called a guy i know at my body shop who took a look at it and said that in order to get the glue off he would have to sand it down and repaint...$400! no way. So I had him order 2 new 2.3 badges and paint them black to go with the others i will be doing soon.
So my adventure continues....but at least my injen cai will be put in on saturday!!!! (alright)

I took off mine with no problem. Im gonna take off the "mazda" and M badge and paint them black sinced i ordered the Black M for the front from street unit. Goodluck!

Why would you buy another M badge when you can just take it off the grille and paint it?

I got my badges back today....my guy at the autobody shop painted them and put them on for me...only cost $20 for both...I'm gonna have him do the same with the mazda badge and the front and rear M. I'll post pics when its done...and i still can't wait to install from cai saturday

I seriously don't understand why you would pay 40$ to do something that can be done with only 5$; a single can of paint.

well because i make more than enough money to have someone do it and do it right then attempt to do the work myself and just end up having to have it done anyway....and besides why would i care what a man with pink emblems on his car says....

Because that extra 15$ you didn't really need to spend is an extra 15$ you can spend on something else??
And it's not about how much money any of us makes. That's the fun in modding your car.
Besides, a paint job like on an emblem is easily reversible and re-doable. If you mess up, try again.

I'm not trying to rag on you or anything. I'm just saying. It's a lot less fun to let someone else do work that's really easily done.

I know what ya mean i was doing them myself but it got messed up when i found out the door had been hit i might see if i can get some of the pain that he used on my 2.3 badges to paint the others myself...doesn't the mazda and the m on the back have pegs?

i know the mazda does, the M, i'm not so sure on....i decided to paint straight on my car, just painters taped the whole hatch off, LOL

Yeah. It really sucks. I decided to put them back on after painting it until I get a CF trunk.

how easy would it be if you had a new mazda emblem and m to put them on...would the pegs go right back into the holes or what?

If they're actual OEM, yeah, they should.
They should actually have rubber grommets too, which make them much more secure in the holes.
