Very nice!!!! We have some pimped out rings!! And some very lucky ladies hehe. What clarity and color are the diamonds you guys bought? The stone I got was a VS2 in clarity and I in color. A pretty good diamond.

Mine was a flawless diamond... highest clasification in all categories except 1 or 2. I forget which categories they were, but they still got the second highest classification. I forget all that code s***.....
The rock was just under a carat, with 1/2 carat in the band and 1/2 carat in the wedding band.

Hmmm.... second car or engagement ring..... second car or engagement ring..... it was the weirdest feeling walking out of that store with a TINY bag.

I almost got a ring like that (Zales I believe), but they said the prongs were not safely adjustable (whatever). The people working wherever I went were horrible salesman and did not have a clue! I love how the channel set diamonds in the band go under the main stone like yours.

FYI to guys thinking about popping the question..... go to a private jeweler, it is probably much cheaper there! I went to Jared because they will always be around (for warranty purposes)... and these small jewelers around here are dropping like flies. You have to look at both sides of it. I could not neggotiate at Jared on price, but they know their stuff and are good with fixes and warranty and stuff like that. If you know a good local jeweler that is probably the best bet.

I did a lot of pricing... At first I went to a custom jeweler- F'that! They said like 4-5K... Then I went to Jared and the price was better but still high. Finally I ended up at a local family owned jewler and it was much lower, plus I was getting a better stone.

I ended up doing alot of pricing and research online and used www.findmyjeweler.com to find the right place to buy. I wasn't going to buy online but I wasn't going to buy from a retail shop either. The place the site recommended was in the Boston Diamond Exchange building. It was one of over 100 other small shops so it was a good thing I knew exactly where I was heading or I would have gotten lost or distracted. The woman and her daughter walked me through everything (which i already researched...but its different when you are looking at actual diamonds). I brought in a picture I printed out from a ring I liked online and they matched it perfectly and gave me a great price. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. We're getting married in October of 2006.

True it is not about the size..... now I could not get my girl a twist tie for a ring, or one out of a $.25 machine..... but any sort of diamond and she'll have to.
