unless he had a swap that crx didnt have any vtec...sorry buddy, you beat just a crx. well maybe he had sohc vtec, but thats nothing, not that dohc vtec is anything anyways.

European and japanese ones do, loads of cars are different from american models over here.Just take a look at my 1st gen and compare it with a american model, there are loads of differences. We took a look at each others engines after the sprint, and the valve cover definitly sead V-tec on top, it's the same for the interior of the car, european crx v-tec came with bucket seats and a very different dash than the more usual crx's.

And o yeah, as far as the times go, this was the first time i raced my baby with the turbo slapped on, so i am still getting used to it.I hope to do better next time, maybe with some new mods, but i am pleased with the way the car is running at the moment.

Without mods of the CRX this just isn't a very interesting, or even debatable topic. Even the US D16A6 SI CRX's will run mid 16's...no vtec.

I'm not trying to be a pain, just wish i knew more about the CRX's in europe...

*sigh*

The guy is in Europe. They did offer a B16 model in europe.. They also had a 1.6 liter DOHC Non-VTEC model... It had a ZC engine in it...

Dan

I've raced a CRX si with a ZC in it, i think he was a 16.1, lost to my mighty DX :p

What was the other name for the ZC? D16A1?

you have to realize you have a turbo on you're 1.3 liter which adds a quite an amount of power...most racing series limit the size of a turbo'd engine to almost half the size of an allowed n/a engine...i think you turbo'd 1.3 liter can more impressively beat a stock protege with a 2.0 mp3 included...vtec is not the end all be all but a good compromise for those who do not want f/i and a large engine to make power but retain driveability and gas mileage...such a successful system that almost every car company now uses some iteration of it

Like i said, i still have to get used to it because i never driven a boosted car. When i first got it out of the garage and tried it out it scared the crap out of me, the way it lifts its front wheels is bizarre. We installed a shortshifter now and its going better than in the beginning.I am going to do better times for sure.

An other thing, does anybody know of an other 1st gen hatch 1.3 with a turbo slapped on???I may just be the only one on the road (naughty) .

I will keep you guys posted because we are going to the track in two weeks so we'll see how it goes.

With 160hp you should be running faster than 17.6.

The 125hp N/A 1.8LDOHC runs about a 16.5, in sedan form...
right i ran a 16.5 with a few mods in my 3rd gen first time ever at a track, and i have to say my 1stgen when stock was much faster...

Does anybody read over here????Or do you all have your answer ready at the moment you open a thread???Know what, never mind, forget i started this thread.**** sake....

sorry dude we are debating here. no one is saying anything bad about what u accomplished. i personally think its cool that u choose to stick with the stock motor and boost it. u have guts. u could have went the easy route and saved ALOT of money and went for the Jspec bpt swap and owned even faster cars, but u didnt(2thumbs)

I wanted to go for something unique, and the other reason is that this is my first car and for me its hard to sell it because i have loads of good memories on my baby (drive) But if u look at the specs a couple posts back you will see that this engine is far from stock.

I have some cool news as well, i have an uncle living in Miami and he asked if i wanted to come over in februari. This uncle is the rich side of the family, the only rich one, and i asked him if i could bring my car too...........and he thought that was a very good idea.GOOD......THATS FREAKIN AWESOME HAHA.So if i come over maybe i could hook up with some of the guys on this forum for a cruise. (naughty)

i don't drag my car but road race it...i'm also running a non factory boosted protege and these engines though n/a mode have little potential with forced induction they make great lower end torque...which is what you are experiencing with the lift (i'd also say your rear suspension might be getting weak)...i have the open diff and always get the one wheel burnout even on dry pavement...i'm also running sticky 225 width falcon azenis

My suspension is about 4 months old and is adjustable in stifness, so we are thinking about adjusting the back to make it stick to the road better, i have 205 tires in front and 215 at the back so thats not the problem. We are still adjusting the car to make it run better and i hope we will do better next time on the track.I am not specially building it for drag, it is a show car as well so i dont wanna push her too hard.

is that AWD/4wd cuz if it isnt get rid of those big tires in the back!!!

haha, nice kill. i remember mashin around in my little 1.3l turbo 323. that thing actually had some balls for such a little tiny lawnmower engine.
I want to get a honda lawnmower so bad so I can put red emblems, vtec and type r badges on it to make fun of the locals. Nice kill wish I could say the same...M3 owned me. also if you are dragging(running in straight lines) just put the bigger tires in the front and if fwd make the rear stiff so the weight distribution doesn't all go to the non powered wheels.

The big tires are for the looks, i like it if a car looks wider in the back.Like i said, it is a show car as well but i love to take it to the track on occasion.

you wouldn't happen to have a picture/cardomain site?
