smic power gains

i picked up and installed the CustomMSP SMIC over the weekend and i'm not really feeling the difference that everyone else seems to have experienced. it definitely helps remove some of the heatsoak after driving for a while but i'm not feeling the 20hp / 15tq that i've read and seen claimed on the dyno sheet. has anyone else not felt that much of an improvement or should i not see that much of a gain since this is my only upgrade? could there be a possible problem if the pipes aren't connected as good as they were on the stock smic? just curious.

I don't know about 20hp but I did feel something. I went with the whole package though...upgrading to hard pipes and a shot ram intake from Turbohoses. My first reaction was....sounds healthy and runs smoother.

i think the 20 hp gain is at 8 psi.. instead of 6 psi.. i think..

i noticed a slight gain and no heatsoak.....but i dont think 20hp.

well i quess i'm feeling what i should. i'll free it up a little more with the corksport exhaust in a couple weeks.

i felt ALOT more with a catless mid pipe than the SMIC..

THAT was REAL gain.

i felt it alot with intake,smic,turbohoses hard pipes, vibrant exhaust and 8psi. my car ran like a champ!

Agreed! From the first drive after install you could feel a HUGE difference in the car. Had the car been stock or near stock maybe it would not of been so impressive. But the smic was my last installed mod in the process. FWIW, I felt similarily about my catless downpipe(no big deal) but I knew it would help as the process continued.

i was about to buy the catless midpipe from protege garage but figured i get the corksport instead (from pg) since it deletes both cats and is a full exhaust. then i can sell the stock racing beat.

I know I felt a sweet kick in the ass when I put my foot on the floor the first time after the CustomMSP SMIC install...it was so unexpected, it hit me like a brick

I guess I fail for not having a face book log in. thats is really cool that a smic and a cai made that much more power. Was this with hard pipes as well ?
