SLS Performance Front Motor Mount

Chances are, the stiffened front motor mount was making a problem with one of your other mounts that much more obvious.

you mean one of the others was so bad this caused more of an issue? either way i want my money back....or someone to buy it. this isnt cool :(

the noise was from the driver's side so maybe that mount is shot? is there any way a stiffer mount would bother the clutch if it is going bad? i think my clutch is still going bad, maybe this just aggravated the problem? no clue

No it didn't cause more of an issue, just made you more aware of an issue.

i.e. your rear mount or passenger side mount is worn/torn but until you tightened up the front you never really noticed.

so it wouldnt be the clutch making more noise just because the engine is stiffer then? i think the clutch is going, so maybe it made that more obvious too?

how do you get to the rear mount? at least so i can look at it?

the rear is a b**** to see, let alone access it. It's basically straight down from your throttle body, pretty much exactly on the other side of the engine from the front mount.

so apparently i didnt get a lot of things i should have. no nuts and no big washers to go over the bushings. how nice of them.... :-\

Mistakes happen.. no one is perfect.

Personally I'd send a PM to SLSPERFORMANCE before coming into a thread asking about their parts and talkin crap.. but that's just me I guess (burp)

pmed SLS on here. if i dont get a response I'll call/email them. i know i've just had a bad week :( finals and all this goin on. gah!!

did everyone else on here receive the washers? only some people received nuts, but did everyone receive the giant washers to go btwn the bushings and the bracket?

i didn't get any nuts or washers w/ my front mount either, i didn't think we were supposed to. stock nuts worked fine, and i don't see why we would need washers

I didn't get washers either but not really seeing where they would fit. The sleeve that the bolt goes thru barely fits in the bracket so I'm guessing that whatever washers y'all are talkin about would have to have an ID big enough for the metal bolt sleeve in the middle of the mount to go thru. Then you'd be squishing the rubber part of the mount to get all that in place. I'd look into replacing the rear mount before selling the front. Like was said, you may just now be able to hear it due to the front being good now & the rear one is more towards the drivers side of the car than the middle or towards passenger side. On the other hand, consistency in what is being shipped to everyone would probably be more comforting when everyone is buying the same part for the same car. **edit** That being said, I did already order the passenger side one.

SLS Performance front motor mount kit.

What you received is the entire kit. The kit includes 2 small bolts for the base (you reuse your stock bushing bolt) and the assembled mount consisting of 1 dowel, 2 bushings, 1 steel main section. No washers or other bolts are included.

It sounds like you may have additional broken mounts if you are getting a clunk noise when starting off. This is caused by the excessive twist of the engine and the engine or exhaust hitting somewhere on the body or frame. <O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
I would recommend checking the rear mount because if both the front and rear or sometimes the passenger side mount is broken and you only replace the front the engine will twist backwards even more. Especially on takeoff!

kansei got huge washers with his to go btwn the mount and bracket. ??

now i gotta figure out how to get to the rear mount. the noise and vibration was coming from the rear part of the engine and towards the passenger side...maybe that's what it is

you get huge washers w/ the passenger side mount kit.

Hey SLS, is your rear mount almost ready? i want one!

Our first mounts did include 2 side washers but we found that there really wasn't any need for them and most people were not installing them anyway. The part of the mount attached to the engine squeezes the mount tight enough that additional space fillers weren't required.

Rear mount is still being worked on we have changed the design to make it more installer friendly.

Hopefully more updates will be comming soon.

about the only way to get a new rear motor mount in and have it be user friendly is to get a new car.

I hate that thing. All the other mounts are CAKE

if mine is toast i guess i'll have someone do it for me?

If you get to the point of replacing your clutch (as you are seemingly suggesting), do the mount. It's much easier with the tranny out of the way.
