slotted/drilled rotor problem

I got my new crossdrilled/slotted rotors and I put them on today. I went for a test drive and they made noise and don't seem to be functioning right. I'm starting to wonder if I put them on in the right direction. I assumed that the rotor marked L was the driver's side and the one that said R was the passenger. Right or wrong? Here is a pic...does anyone know if they are on the wrong side (by the direction of the slots)

they are facing the wrong way. they left picture should be the driver side and the right picture should be the passenger

The noise is normal I think. Isn't this the correct way to put them on?

no thats incorrect. the slots should gouge at the pad like a tiger claw would grip the ground. the slots should go to the front of the car like this "\" working from the center of the rotor to the outside. my example "\" would be an example of the passenger front.

wow im confused ... so the slots should claw at the pad ... i would think that means on the passanger wheel looking at the rotor the slot would (

however your second statment says the oposit that they go ) ....wow this is getting kinda confusing ... posting pics in a sec

ok both of these pics are of the passanger front wheel ... wich is correct for the rotor?

I don't know people.......
IIRC on of the functions of the slots is to "clean" the pads, and help remove gasses that form between pad and rotor under high temps. if they are on as they are in the original post of this thread, whatever comes off will be directed toward the center, causing s*** to get all over the hub. If they are put on the way DaKiNeP5 has them, then they will pull gasses and pad debris out toward the outside of the rotor.

I think DakineP5's are on right.....

Look at the area between the inside and outside surfaces of the disk. The vanes in there are angled. These are mad to help REMOVE heat, NOT to scoop in air. So if the car is facing this direction ---> then the vanes on the pax side will be this way \\\ when you look at the rotor just behind the caliper.
