I don't have my MSP yet, but I've research Sirius thoroughly so I'll be read when I get the car. Here's the deal.
The 919 HU that comes stock is "ready" for Sirius. Meaning it's setup for it as far as the buttons/menus/lcd, but it doesn't have the actual receiver with it.
To setup Sirius on the MSP (and stay all Kenwood, like I'm trying), you need the CX-SR10 antenna (found
here). You *can* place it inside on the rear deck, but I'm thinking of getting it painted to put in on the roof. Then run the lines from that down into the KTC-SR01 receiver (found
here). The receiver acts as a digital convertor to take the digital satellite signal and make it analog so the HU can understand it and play it. The KTC-SR01 receiver hooks up to the back of the 919 HU via an "Aux In" connector. Then press mode until "Sirius" comes up.
That's what Sirius ready means. It's made ready to accept the signal and all of that without having to require a RF FM modulator, which you can still use, but it's rather pointless.
Hope this clears some of it up and by the way, I found the CX-SR10 antenna, the KTC-SR01 receiver, and then KCA-R70FM all brand new unopened on ebay for $102.50. It's sitting on the floor right now waiting with me for the car.
