I want to do a black & blue (suprise suprise) tweed in my car. Looks good

from my experience:

- use solid colors for any curved pieces, if not the pattern gets stretched around curves and looks off (learned that the hard way as I redid my original plan)
- do as much as you can versus paying someone to do it, it's not all that difficult but is time consuming and attention to detail is key.
- bondo fills in cracks beautifully
- heat gun helps the material stretch around curves
- tweeding some of the car doesn't look right with some parts tweeded next to stock plastic parts. try to cover as much as you can.
- a part comes out bad, you have the ability to take it off and do it again
- the junkyard is your friend

you can't go wrong with black and blue, especially when the rest of the car is that scheme. ask anyone who's seen the car in person, it's really sweet. pics don't do it justice.

I can't afford katskinz or tweed. I want to keep the stock seats protected from the Arizona sun, so seat covers it is.

I got some off of ebay, don't get them they are really thin and will most likely tear within the year. But they look pretty good for now. I'm not real impressed but they were only $30. You get what you pay for.

Not really a fan. I hate when you can see all the creases and ripples in those type of covers.

Rest of the car looks really good though.

I know, the ripples and creases bug me too. I keep tugging and pulling hopint to get them just right. But they do look better than the other set of seat covers I had.

Someday I'll get black & blue leather or tweed.

How did you get your new shift boot to sit flush? Did you glue on that plastic peice from your old boot to the new one?

I am really loving this shot. Your pics are going to convince me to do the interior swap.

It's definitely worth it, IMO. The black makes the car look so much more upscale than the poo-brown on the 99/00 models.

indeed i am. mryeller (i think) was gauging interest in fabricating tweeter mounts for that area and he asked me to take some pics of the existing sails. the pics i took came out poopy and i havent gotten around to taking better ones or putting them back on. nice eye.
