hey, does anybody on these lovely forums know the thread size of the stopck p5 shift knob? Im making a custom knob and this would help out greatly.

thanks,
Jesse

my tap and die set is sae, which is not what the pd stock shift knob is, but i was able to verify that the thread count is 20, and it appears to be around 3/8." howeever, like i said, i don't think it is sae, so convert 3/8" to metric, and you get 9.5mm, or 10mm. so, a very close guess is 10mm dia, with 20 threads per inch. (though, i suppose it could be 3/8" by 20...) hope that helps!

Ok i finished what i was doing, the tap i used was 11/32 and it fit like a glove.

Aw, c'mon. Where's your sense of fun? :D

I like it. Might feel a little weird going to third or fifth, though.

not really, sits just as high as stock and feels about the same. I jsut like doing stupid things myself thats why i did it, i dont care how ghetto it looks.

hahahaha thats great...... wait a minute....thats probably the heaviest counterweight shift knob i have ever seen....hmmm

haha if i had a way to get another pool ball, i woudl gladly do it. But since i had to "acquire" this one, its gonna be kind of hard.

Nice, but is it heavy???

not really, it feels almost like stock. When i can get my hands on like a postal scale or something ill let everyone know how much it weighs exactly.

Now try a Magic 8 Ball :)

Shift into 1st, Magic 8 Ball says: "Reply hazy, try again"
Shift into 2nd, Magic 8 Ball says: "Signs point to yes"
Shift into 3rd, Magic 8 Ball says: "Outlook good"
Shift into 4nd, Magic 8 Ball says: "My sources say no"
Shift into 5nd, Magic 8 Ball says: "Yes - definitely"
Shift into Reverse, Magic 8 Ball says: "Ask again later"
...

It's been said, but I shall re-affirm. Metric 10x1.25 with a good length halfinch or so by 3/4" or more clearance hole needed on a stock shifter, varies on aftermarket.

and the new one (weighted, this one's about 18oz) Stainless steel core (where the weight's from)pressed into a heated aluminum sleeve. Pic doesnt' do it justice. Not relaly llthat pretty, but it feels much nicer.

I like your knob.
ha ha

I'm wondering why you didn't use a "5" ball?

Anyhow, i've wanted to get a pool ball that is slightly smaller than regulation size. 2" dia. The real ones are too large for my taste.
