I couldn't search on this since "tC" is too short to search on so I hope this isn't a re-post.

Anyways, this new Scion tC coming in 2005 has the Camry engine with an optional factory TRD supercharger to give 200hp. More info on the site says a few bolt-ons will have this thing hitting 250hp. Looks to be in the $20k price range too. Sounds pretty good.......comments?

Scion = crap

toyota = blah crap

scion Tc made by toyota = blah crap (crap) = blah +2crap

I remember when 200hp was the bar to be reached....with so many other good cars beating that I'm not interested in buying a more expensie....slower....less capable car.

I kind of like it, looks better then the current Celica design...plus seems more functional. I also have alot of respect for Toyota, they make quality products, though the whole concept behind the Scion line is kind of silly.....but that's the doing of their PR department not the engineering.

cool.....I didn't know that it was a kinda hatchback......that's pretty cool.

Thats the same thing everyone has said about the Mazda3 until people started photochopping them to what is possible.

looks good to me. all this talk. just bring it to the track then we will see if it has a chance vs a MSP

werd.....I don't see much info there about suspension or handling specs......I'll be curious to see that. If they take hints from the Spyder though it would ROCK!!!!

The primary competition for this car would probably be the Honda Civic EX coupe. With Honda's latest redesign they sacrificed performance for added comfort and economy. I feel that the tC is close to what the 2001 Civic Si SHOULD have been. Looking at the numbers, the tC gives more power, more room and more style for around the same price. Hmmm... that is a no-brainer. Other competitors will be the Acura RS-X (costs more), Hyundai Tiburon (less features), Toyota Celica (hmmm...), VW GTI (again, either less features or higher price) and Chevy Cavalier (HAHAHA!! yeah right).

Now compare it to the standard Protege to the MSP. Yeah, have fun with your cheap-looking Toyota.

Turbo Matty!!! easy on Toyota bro!!! I mean seriously, how can you call them "crap"? the "blah" thing is somewhat understandable I guess.... (though not ALL their cars are boring/most are) the bottom line is... the bottom line. no car company is more profitable or has a better system/plan put in place. You gotta respect that!! By this time next year they'll be the 2nd largest car mfg. (next to GM) If I were you guys...I'd invest!!! trust me on this one....

Toyota is blah to the Nth pwer. Nothing they do excells in any catagory except resale value. The cars last a long time, but working a s a mehcnic I've seen more sludged up heads from poor oiling systems than on any other car (save for the late 80's mercedes). Their truck line is so unimpressive it's almost laughable. their sedan line is bland and uninspired. It's almost like buying a toyota is just buying a piece of transportation. Buying a mazda or a nissan is almost like buying a ticket to a rollercoaster. Much more heart and soul in these cars. Toyota lacks a feel I guess you could say.

p.s. FWIW I raced my P5 2.0L (stock) against my buddys Toyota Slowara 3.0L V6 (stock) and I walked him......with 50% less engine...jsut pitiful

holy crap it is a direct rip on the tibby!! That is uncanny!! Imagine a world where Toyota would rip off design elements from Hyundai!!
