Scheduled Maintenance dash icon

:
2016 CX-5 Touring AWD
2019 CX-5 Reserve AWD
This morning the dash icon for scheduled maintenance due (wrench) appeared. The car was purchased on Apr 13 and the odometer is 1,721 miles.
I would expect it to appear around 6 months or 5k miles whichever happens first.

That is nothing more than an idiot light that can be set/reset in the infotainment unit.My 2016 had the light on when I went to pick it up,with less than 10km on the odometer. It was easily reset and hasn't reappeared in the month I've owned he vehicle and put close to 2000km on it.

I know. I did reset it. I'm just curious why it came on so early. I would expect it to come on around 6 months or 5,000 miles but not at 3.5 months and 1,721 miles.

Dammit! I actually paid 70 € for them to do the 'inspection'. I feel so stupid.

Maybe 6 months from the day it was manufactured and 3.5 months in your hands.

My 'oil change' maintenance light intermittently came on (and off) starting at 6000 miles (after an engine start). Set to flexible, said 40% life left when looking at maintenance screen. Assumed the algorithm was confused:). After the oil change (1st one, free at dealer), idiot light reset, the maintenance light came on after ~100 miles! I went to the screen, turned off other two notifications (scheduled maintenance and tire rotation), wrench light stayed on. Turned off oil change, light went off! Turned back on (left other two off), so far wrench light has stayed off, but it's been only a few days.

I would take it back...

Sounds like the poor little wrench dude is confused(smash)...I would take it back in to the dealer. I hate New Stuff that doesn't work properly, and take full advantage of the warranty!
Those dash idiot lights are annoying to me and a little black tape goes a long way until they are fixed...It is also possible that the Maint. Computer caught a spike of some kind..and need to be reset...which you did.
