Poor little guy...

Waiting to see what the damage is. Obviously, the front right fender, front bumper, hood, and right door are all damaged to one degree or another. The front right wheel also has about 30 degrees of camber now, too.

Well, there was stopped traffic in the left turn lane and I was trying to cross it to get to a parking lot. Somebody let me through, and when I took the left turn I got hit. So, I'm sure that I'll get at least part of the fault. The only argument I really have that blames the other lady is that maybe she was going a little fast for having to come around from behind the line of cars and then approaching a stop sign. I don't really know what she did, though. I didn't see her until I was sideways.

Well, the collision shop is quoting about $4500 so far. Said it could end up more if they discover more problems as they start tearing into it. I figure the value is somewhere in the neighborhood of $12k, so unless they find something really messed up with the engine, or something, I should be getting it back eventually.

I have a $1,000 deductible, but I also have a $450 "safe driver credit". So I'm only out $550 with this. Actually might be less if they count the headlight towards my deductible, since I have the set from Japan for my retrofit. No point in replacing OEM when I'm just going to turn around and replace again soon. If that works out, that would be another $300 off my deductible, leaving me just $250 out of pocket. Of course, that doesn't include the inevitable hike in my premiums.

Pfft women in minivans/suburbans top hazard lol. Welp.. the new mz2 is coming out and the 2015 mirage is out.

Ha! Well, if I end up needing to replace then I'm going to go with a cheaper used car. So far, though, I'm still hoping that it can be patched up okay.

Speaking of that, I talked to the guy at the collision shop about maybe replacing some of the busted parts with non-OEM stuff and then just having them charge me the difference. Here's my list so far:

Front right headlight (from my ongoing project)
Sway bar (Corksport)
End links (Moog/Raybestos/AC Delco, or Corksport if their M3 adjustables would translate over)
Control arm bushings (Whiteline)
Springs and shocks (Corksport, though probably not yet since it's just one corner right now)

I'm also wondering if I would be better off getting aftermarket tie rod ends? The steering is pretty good, but if we're replacing stuff anyway and there is something better out there...

Anyway, if you guys can think of anything else I might add to the list, let me know here.

Well that is a big bummer.

Our end links do not work on the 2, the 3 links are too long, I tried a set

Okay. I actually just called you guys and got the same answer. I might consider the Steeda end links for the Fiesta, though. Do you think they would fit?

http://www.steedafiesta.com/parts/ford-fiesta-front-swaybar-endlinks/

They might fit but the Fiesta bar is a bit thicker so the links are a bit shorter than ours.. If you get a bigger front bar, they will work fine..

Was the lady in the van in a marked lane of traffic or was she passing on the shoulder? If traffic was stopped, she could be at partial fault for failing to yeild to traffic flow as you are supposed to use caution when passing stopped traffic on the right.
And the driver who waived you on could share some liability also...but that's really stretching the law.

Hope everything works out. Don't forget about the seat belts. The pretensioners may have set off and belts stretched when the buckles preloaded. Even if the side bags didn't fire.

Good point about the seat belts. I'll have them checked before taking the car back.

The lady was in a marked lane of traffic. And I wasn't exactly "waved on". Someone just let a hole open for me. I think that if it comes to it then the failing to use caution when passing stopped traffic argument would be the only argument I could use for shared liability.

As for the front bar, I am thinking of using the CS one, so maybe that will work with the Fiesta links?

If you're going to use the CS bar, I'd send Derrick ^ a Pm and ask him what links they reccomend. If the CS bar is 25 or so MM, the fiesta links "should" work.
