Finally,
After weeks of calling the service center and debating on the phone with one of the "old jack" idiots at the counter...I finally got through to a manager who heard me out.
I walked into the White Plains, NY Mazda/ Nissan service center on Tarrytown road armed with my TSB regarding rust on rotors.
One of the older attendants at the front counter was trying to shut me down saying "its just cosmentic" and "well does it affect your driving and braking performance?" I sarcastically replied with what did you have for breakfast? When he asked the relavance, I asked its just as relevant as his question...
Now I had a small audience of people snickering as the tables turned, I said "If cars were sold soley on performance values, there should not be a problem, if the cars in the lot got their paint job, keyed down both doors prior to being sold, or for that matter, why paint them at all, because they still drive fine right?"
He replied with "let me get the manager"
When the manager came, (a much more calm and listening gentleman) I relayed my entire story to him and showed him the TSB... with that he took a look at the car, took down my phone # and said he will call me back with an answer.. he left by saying that he does not see why there should be any question once I presented the Mazda TSB, which clearly defines symptons and a course of action for authorizes repair centers.
2 days later he called and I have an appointment set for 11/10/03 at the center, he informed me that it will be a most of the day process because they want to be thorough and put the car up on the lift, remove the wheels and the rotors for a thorough sanding and then recoating.
I am glad that that TSB worked out...anyone in the area... I reccomend you get in there soon while the going is good... before they somehow change there policy....
