So I put my AVC-R in today and now it runs alot richer then before, gauge is maxed out! Now I am flashed and I know I shouldn't turn up the boost but my plan was to set it to the lowest setting until next week when I get a SAFC. so what should I do?(scratch) (dunno)Im just going to unplug it till next week and hope for the best:confused:

running rich will not hurt your car, it just eats money outta yo pocket for gas and makes you lose hp

if your using a narrowband I would not trust it anyway

however regardless of that a boost controller will not make you run rich, it has no control over the a/f settings, BUT if your boosting more the computer maybe compensating for that

as far as I know nobody has ever gotten the SAFC to work right on our cars

MSPs run rich from the factory, flashed or not. Have your mpg's changed since adding the avc-r? Get it tuned to correct or eliminate any problems.

I read somewhere that if your running rich and you turn the boost up you could hurt something and yes I am using the narrowband gauge but it did show a difference from before. It bouced all over before and now its maxed out. and yes Im a newb so any help is welcome.

what gauge for a/f are you using, did you use any of the same wires on the avc install? That might cause for a false reading on the gauge, also I've noticed when the fan comes on the a/f changes so I know that its not very accurate.

this is the gauge I'am using and I know its not right on.http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail.aspx?gid=3083 and the AVC-r dosn't have awire for A/F. Dosn't matter I pulled it out until next week.

I have that same gauge, its a pretty light show but when I get on it or am boosting it will go all the way rich or start to blink on the rich side. Which I belive is even richer than the gauge can show that's why it blinks. On the s-afc I would save my money, more than a few people have tried it and it didn't work for them. unless you know some magic trick that no one else does it would be a waste of money. check out dsm's afc great words from the people that use it. about that boost controler it is electronic so make sure all the wires are were they are supposed to. power, ground, and signal you know no loose wire or anything grounding, ie. striped wires. g/l
