Guys i have the sport ms3..is there an amplifier on the regular audio system.i wanna keep my stock HU and just add an 200watt amp and a single basooka bass tube...that should be possible right??give me some tips please..

oK I'LL CHECK IT OUT..THNX..I ALREADY HAVE A TUBE AND THE AMP..i just want a lil more bass thats all...am please with the reg system..

Thnx fourthmeal..i'll consider all u've said..yeah i hate it when i crank the volume all the way and the highs fall out..that sucks..

ok, here's what i'm running with-

i am planning an almost all Alpine affair, using the ms3 gt's bose HU with MTX re-q, Alpine pdx 4.150 amp, typeX pro 6.5 comp set and typeR 10" sub in a custom sealed enclosure...reason being i don't have enough power for the typeX unit w/o going with another amp.

I'm sorry to tell you, but 300 watts rms to a 10" type R in a sealed box isn't going to be enough power. Look into a more efficient sub, or go ported with that amount of power on tap.

I've never personally listened to a type R sub, but from the numerous threads on numerous forums about these subs, people really aren't happy with them till they put at least 500 watts rms (per sub) on them.

Sure, it'll sound like a subwoofer, but will it really shine with low power? I think not from what I've read.

ok guys, i got my car back yesterday from the shop, car toyz in egg harbor township, nj. here is the laundry list of stuff that was installed-

alpine type r components, 6.5"
type r 12" sub in properly sized sealed box
alpine pdx 4.150
MTX re-q
sirius sportster 5, direct wired to HU and permanently installed/hardwired.

i kept the stock amp and sub in conjunction with the added stuff. i have to admit that the sound is absolutely incredible. it's full, clear and crisp. i have the 12" sub tuned to pick up where the stock sub leaves off, so the bass is nice and low and not overpowering in the upper bass region. everyone who has sampled the system has commented on how well it performs. i had a neighbor sit in the car during KRS-ONE's 'step into a world' and he could not believe it was only one 12" sub.

the installation was top notch. they ran the wires properly in the jambs, the amp and re-q are installed underneath the plastic tray that resides between the spare and the back seats. nothing was cut or modified, they are securely mounted and TOTALLY hidden. access is easy for tuning purposes- one only has to undo two screws to remove that plastic panel. the box is easily removed by two spring connectors for when i need storage or want to lose weight.

i really am excited about the way this thing turned out and i want to thank those who helped me with alot of information, especially fourthmeal.
